According to Joe Hadenuf: Official Free Republic Position Parallels GOP On Immigration. No Big Deal
6/23/02 | Joe Hadenuf

Posted on 06/23/2002 12:52:24 PM PDT by Joe Hadenuf

Last night during a conversation/debate between myself and the leader/owner of the Free Republic, Jim Robinson, a rather stunning revelation was brought forth. I asked Mr. Robinson, which Republicans were vocally backing, and supporting Tancredo in his fight for our sovereignty? After some delay, Jim answered, “I have no idea. Immigration is not a big concern of mine.”

This is from the man that runs the most well known, and respected, political conservative internet forum in the United States? And Mr. Robinson resides in California?

Below is the exchange

Conservatives, Cut Bush Slack The Chicago Sun-Times | June 22, 2002 | Thomas Roeser

To: Jim Robinson

#939: Oh, so the Republicans are fighting for our sovereignty? Besides Tancredo, which Republicans are these Jim? If you could be specific.

#1034: Which ones are not ?

#1056: You never answered my question Jim.

Since you failed to answer my question, I will go first.

Given thirty years of this open border, immigration "free for all" that has resulted in many millions entering our nation illegally, I believe there are very few Republicans, or anyone else in DC, besides Tancredo, that are visibly and vocally fighting for our national sovereignty.

Now would you care to tell me which Republicans are standing with Tancredo and voicing outrage against this titanic, never ending invasion of illegal aliens?

At first I as was stunned, angry, and felt let down. Then after some thought I wasn’t too surprised.

Looking back at all the hundreds of immigration threads where many were deleted, disappeared and sent to the cornfield, I guess I am not too surprised. However, given the gravity and danger this country faces regarding this out of control, titanic immigration issue, I am still outraged, disheartened and saddened by Mr. Robinson’s response. Thread after thread Freepers have displayed genuine outrage and honest concern regarding this issue. And the outrage and insanity regarding this issue goes far beyond the Free Republic.

It’s escalated to the point now where many of our major cities in this country, such as Chicago, have now approved the use of identification cards, issued by Mexican consulates that will give illegal aliens access to financial and public services and more, as our so-called leaders stand treasonously silent, as our sovereignty is slowly dismantled.

This massive invasion of millions of illegal aliens has changed the face of many of our once great cities, from California to Illinois, to Georgia, to Tennessee, to Texas etc etc.

They are crowding our already over crowded classrooms, voting in our elections, choking off our social services, driving down the wages, while driving up our taxes, filling our jails, standing room only in many big city emergency rooms, etc, etc, etc. I personally know of six American citizens that have become victims of illegal alien crime, from having family members slaughtered on our highways by drunk driving illegal aliens, to stabbings, robberies and common burglaries.

And just recently, another young Deputy Sheriff was shot through the face and killed in California by an illegal alien, that has again fled back to the safety of Mexico. It has now been learned that this individual has already been deported three times, each time he has returned and committed more crimes in our country, leaving American victims in his wake, and each time he fled back to the safety of Mexico.

There are many forms of terrorism, and this continued invasion of millions upon millions is one form. And it's my opinion that it’s one of the most dangerous, most threatening issues facing America today. Even today as we speak, our federal government continues to allow in almost 8000 Middle Eastern men a month on visas. It is my opinion that this legal and illegal “immigration free for all” must be, stopped, extremely limited, and reformed immediately!

Again, I am extremely saddened and distressed by Mr. Robinson's response and lack of concern regarding this issue.

I think that Joe Hadenuf is exemplifies high political courage in this thread. I am very moved by his opening essay, which is clearly from the heart. I believe that almost everyone on Free Republic will come rather soon to the same realization that has shaken Joe Hadenuf. Joe's just a little ahead of the herd.

Big Joe Hadenuf Bump on that.

HOWEVER - immigration causes more problems than just a ballooning welfare state and it is unfair to characterize all immigrants to this country as welfare recipients.

It does & it is, of course. But it is beyond debate that our most recent arrivals consume social welfare benefits at a much higher rate than does the indigenous population.

But you're right - thats just one resulting problem of many.

"I’m always amazed that some conservatives believe that there should be monolithic agreement in our ideology."

Well put and mirrors my thoughts as well. Although there is one issue that I believe conservatives should be in monolithic agreement about and that is belief in and allegiance to the Constitution of the United States and adherence to it by all elected and appointed officials.

INS Commissioner James Zigler

Prior law enforcement experience-U.S. Senate Sergeant-at-Arms

- What is INS' policy toward illegal immigrants in the U.S.?

According to the INS manager Nina Moniz"Our job is to explain to people why they are here illegally, help them change that and help them get benefits."

-Fred Alexander, a deputy district director for the INS, told a group of undocumented day laborersthat "It's not a crime to be in the United States illegally, it's a violation of civil law."

-Walter Cadman, a former INS District Director, was caught deceiving congressional investigators and then led a cover-up. The Justice Department recommended Cadman be fired for hiding evidence. Cadman was briefly demoted, and a year later, was promoted to head of the INS national Security Unit.

I myself had a post removed by the moderator for using censored swear words. Now, being as it was the F word, it was still censored. Not only was my post pulled, but I was threatened with banishment because the moderator didn't even read the post, or understand the context. I sent the moderator an e-mail explaining everything, and what's worse is, I kept seeing censored swear words on just about every other thread, Yet I was singled out. Now, you tell me how I'm supposed to respond to this censorship? Immigration is a HUGE problem where I live. In Minnesota, we have tons of illegals getting licenses, welfare, free education, all of the things that I'm NOT allowed to get. I can't get a bank account without a social security card. I can't get a driver's license without a social security card. I can't get welfare, or student aid, or medical care without a social security card yet, EVERY immigrant, legal or illegal is eligible.

I was civil in my post that was deleted. I swear by it. I swore I wouldn't suffer another fool who thinks they are God of the internet, and trying to keep their sponsors happy. The problem with Free Republic, is that when your sponsors kick in $280,000.00 a year, the big contributors will demand something in return. Hence what I'm saying is that there are people who donate who are for letting illegals into our country, and when they get offended, we get deleted. I make this accusation because it's the way I perceive things. If you want to deny it, that's your business, however, I know that loyalty to the people who post, and loyalty to your high paying contributors are two entirely different things. It's the way of the world, and I thought it wouldn't happen to Free Republic, but it does happen in all walks of life. This website is bought and paid for. So remember everyone, if you donate a lot of cash to Free Republic, you too can have access, and dominion over a website.

I think your attack on Mr. Robinson for stating it is an issue that he is not overly concerned about is shallow at best.

Attack? I state I am saddened by Jim's response, and that I am surprised by his position, and you consider this an attack?

You need to get a life. Jim Robinson, while owner of the site, is just another poster here, entitled to his own view or lack of opinion.

And hopefully I am entitled to my opinon, as you are yours.

Attacking he man that has invited you into his forum for not being in lock step with your ideology is not a brilliant idea if you wish to stick around and expound on your ideas.

Oh, I see, since I disagree with his position, I am going to be under the threat of being banned? Jim can drop me like a bad habit any time he feels. I have been here some years now and I guess I am fortunate he don't think like you.

Have a nice day, Imp.

[laughing] Instead of trying to change your Representatives' minds on an issue that clearly is important to you, you attempt to change the "official" [chortle] position of the owner of a private website.

Do you have a copy of JimRob's voting record? [hoot]

Here is the exchange. I put it in white font.

To: Tacis

I honestly think that if we wanted closed borders, than the citizens of this country need to explain it to the people who run our government that THIS WILL NOT STAND!!!! Close our border with Mexico, and not let ANY ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION TAKE PLACE! I believe we should patrol our borders and enforce the law with extreme predjudice. I am really f-ing tired of these dirbags getting a free ride here in America, all because the Mexican American league, the ACLU, and a bunch of borderline pseudo citizen's rights group thinks they deserve to come here and milk our country dry....

I resent EVERY SINGLE ILLEGAL IN MY COUNTRY. I despise them for who and what they are, and more importantly what they represent. I resent the fact that they can get free housing, clothing, food, medical care, and a college education on the backs of the tax payers, yet I the citizen am still paying my student loan debts, and continue to have my interest rates raised to pay for the free educations these immigrants get. They not only get all this, but can get business loans, and grants that I as a citizen cannot get. They can get a driver's license, and a bank account without having a social security card. Now, tell me why I can't do the same?

The rules only apply to those who make money, and pay the bills, and the dirtbags from Mexico get what they want at our expense. F--k Mexico. Wall them up, keep them out, and let nature take it's course in that country. When they can act like our country, and work as hard as our people have, then we'll take the wall down. Fix your own problems Mexico, and quit sending your human garbage to my country.

Um, do they realize how much of our country is UNDEVELOPED???

This is about taking our country, and making room for people who shouldn't live here, AKA the Dregs of the World. Mexico didn't give the US a heads up on that DeLome Letter, they were a conspirator with Germany from the word go. The Germans aren't the only ones trying to kill America, we have the Mexican influence, the European GutterTrash Influence, and all the enviornmentalist wackos in our own country destroying our nation, our sovereignty and our way of life.

F--k You Germany, and F--k your little Global Taxation you think you're going to pull off. This time, if America goes to War, it will be alone, and not listening to the UN, as the American People will someday rise up and wipe out the scourge of socialism, starting with those in our borders who advocate it. When we have wiped them out, we should move on to the rest of the world, stomping out every vestige of socialism and communism that exists as a threat to our nation. Germany has apparently forgotten who handed them their hat in the last 2 world wars, It's time for a refresher course in history.

Other countries that need to be put on notice, Britain, France, Spain, Portugal, Russia, China, Korea, if you want some of this, come get some. We'll take you all on, and send your people back to the God-Da--ed stoneage. All hail American Imperialism. It's time we started to practice it.

I for one want Mexico to be walled up, and their people kept out of our country. They are nothing but ignornat, lazy criminals who set out to have anchor children when they get here at the expense of the American Tax Payer.

The cops should be allowed to create tools for their jobs. Especially when they have to interrogate one of these chimps. Gang members and wannabe gangsters should be spoken too with contempt, and not treated as equals, as they are nothing but primates in gold chains and baseball caps. WE should hold these people accountable for the crime they do, and the crimes they perpetrate against America because they can't or won't learn to speak the English Langauge.

This statement is staggering. It underlines how the INS has morphed from a govermental agency charged with the mission to apprehend and deport illegal aliens to an agency that enables illegal aliens to stay and feed off our welfare system. I wish the INS operated like this.

JimRob,

First off I would like to thank you for creating and running the Free Republic. In my opinion, it is the best site on the internet.

Secondly, I respect your opinion on Illegal Immigration, even if I think it is misplaced.

There have been numerous studies on the cost of illegal immigration and the effects of mass immigration. If you have not already done so, please visit the Center for Immigration Studies at http://www.cis.org/

Below is some information I have been working on since the first of this year. I plan on writing a paper on the number of illegals that entered the US, one year after the attacks on September 11th.

Please read it and consider the information,

Thanks and Semper Fi,

Marine Inspector

US BORDER PATROL, MEXICAN BORDER, APPREHENSION INFORMATION

Date Range: 09/12/2001 To 06/11/2002

(last updated 06/11/2002)

In the 9 months since September 11th, the US Border Patrol has apprehended 661,605 illegal aliens attempting to cross the US/Mexico border illegally.

These are the official numbers per Border Patrol Sector:

San Diego Sector - 69,749
El Centro Sector - 75,093
Yuma Sector - 31,245
Tucson Sector - 233,215
El Paso Sector - 64926
Marfa Sector - 8,553
Del Rio Sector - 53,794
Laredo Sector - 62,149
McAllen Sector - 62,881

Some of these apprehensions are what we call recidivist apprehensions. A recidivist apprehension, is an illegal that has been apprehended before. That apprehension may have been during the reporting period or it may have been before the reporting period and the illegal may have been apprehended several times.

For this presentation, I will subtract the recidivist apprehensions from the total apprehensions. 661,605 - 256,882 = 404,723.

This gives our base figure of new illegal alien apprehensions. This figure is not 100% accurate, as some apprehensions go unreported and we have removed the aliens that have been apprehended by the INS before.

So, since September 11th, the US Border Patrol has apprehended approximately 404,723 new illegal aliens attempting to illegally cross the US/Mexico border.

The Border Patrol estimate that they apprehend only 20% of the illegal aliens crossing into the United States. That means 4 illegal aliens get through for every one apprehended.

Independent Immigration experts estimate that the Border Patrol apprehends only 10% of the illegal aliens crossing into the United States. That means 9 illegal aliens get through for every one apprehension.

For this presentation, I will use the Border Patrol estimate of 20%.

So, if the Border Patrol apprehended 404,723 new illegal aliens since September 11th, the number of illegal aliens that made it into the United States undetected would be approximately 1,618,892. Although it could be as high as 3,642,507.

This is an average of over 6,000 illegal aliens crossing into the United States from Mexico, undetected daily.

You must remember that these figures only reflect approximately 60% of the illegal aliens attempting to enter the US. I have not included the official US Ports of Entry along the US/Mexico border or the US/Canada border and I have not included any airport or interior apprehensions or the Border Patrol apprehensions along the US/Canada border. Using those numbers, would push the daily total of illegals entering the US to over 10,000.
