Last night during a conversation/debate between myself and the leader/owner of the Free Republic, Jim Robinson, a rather stunning revelation was brought forth. I asked Mr. Robinson, which Republicans were vocally backing, and supporting Tancredo in his fight for our sovereignty? After some delay, Jim answered, I have no idea. Immigration is not a big concern of mine.
This is from the man that runs the most well known, and respected, political conservative internet forum in the United States? And Mr. Robinson resides in California?
Below is the exchange
Conservatives, Cut Bush Slack The Chicago Sun-Times | June 22, 2002 | Thomas Roeser

#939: Oh, so the Republicans are fighting for our sovereignty? Besides Tancredo, which Republicans are these Jim? If you could be specific.
#1034: Which ones are not ?
#1056: You never answered my question Jim.
Since you failed to answer my question, I will go first.
Given thirty years of this open border, immigration "free for all" that has resulted in many millions entering our nation illegally, I believe there are very few Republicans, or anyone else in DC, besides Tancredo, that are visibly and vocally fighting for our national sovereignty.
Now would you care to tell me which Republicans are standing with Tancredo and voicing outrage against this titanic, never ending invasion of illegal aliens?

At first I as was stunned, angry, and felt let down. Then after some thought I wasnt too surprised.
Looking back at all the hundreds of immigration threads where many were deleted, disappeared and sent to the cornfield, I guess I am not too surprised. However, given the gravity and danger this country faces regarding this out of control, titanic immigration issue, I am still outraged, disheartened and saddened by Mr. Robinsons response. Thread after thread Freepers have displayed genuine outrage and honest concern regarding this issue. And the outrage and insanity regarding this issue goes far beyond the Free Republic.
Its escalated to the point now where many of our major cities in this country, such as Chicago, have now approved the use of identification cards, issued by Mexican consulates that will give illegal aliens access to financial and public services and more, as our so-called leaders stand treasonously silent, as our sovereignty is slowly dismantled.
This massive invasion of millions of illegal aliens has changed the face of many of our once great cities, from California to Illinois, to Georgia, to Tennessee, to Texas etc etc.
They are crowding our already over crowded classrooms, voting in our elections, choking off our social services, driving down the wages, while driving up our taxes, filling our jails, standing room only in many big city emergency rooms, etc, etc, etc. I personally know of six American citizens that have become victims of illegal alien crime, from having family members slaughtered on our highways by drunk driving illegal aliens, to stabbings, robberies and common burglaries.
And just recently, another young Deputy Sheriff was shot through the face and killed in California by an illegal alien, that has again fled back to the safety of Mexico. It has now been learned that this individual has already been deported three times, each time he has returned and committed more crimes in our country, leaving American victims in his wake, and each time he fled back to the safety of Mexico.
There are many forms of terrorism, and this continued invasion of millions upon millions is one form. And it's my opinion that its one of the most dangerous, most threatening issues facing America today. Even today as we speak, our federal government continues to allow in almost 8000 Middle Eastern men a month on visas. It is my opinion that this legal and illegal immigration free for all must be, stopped, extremely limited, and reformed immediately!
Again, I am extremely saddened and distressed by Mr. Robinson's response and lack of concern regarding this issue.
Our federal government usurping the powers given to the states, and to the people, is the greatest danger faced by our republic, and it's people. Everything else is secondary. I agree with you wholeheartedly on this.
What?? One thing has nothing to do with the other.
No He's not. I still think that it was worthy.
This is Jim Rob's website and I respect what he has done with it, I also like to know what he thinks about different subjects.
I may not agree with him on this subject but that doesn't diminish my respect for him. On the contrary, I respect him more for leaving this post and also responding to it!
Aren't we all trying to get people to think like we do, or at the very least to understand our point of view?
Is this a position or philosophy? For example, I am very much a state's rights and economic conservative. I do not identify strongly with the Christian conservative's issues. Regardless, we are both conservative.
By the way, I believe that the Federal Government's primary constitutional duty is defense. To some degree or another, that starts with defense of our borders.
OK ... we are NOT losing our Country ... but we ARE at war and things have to change ... even as the left will try to eat the right and the right keeps trying to scrape off that third party glued to the bottom of its shoe ...
Meet Louis, please ... and his brother Alberto ....
I first met them both back in the early 90's .... I had thought to start a business of my own, you see ... and was at a wholesaler who had just brought in some ADD-a-Man workers .....illegal, all of them ... and all of us knew this ... though I was quakin' in my shoes ... at barely 5'1 to 2 ... if I stand up really straight ... and 100 pounds ... while Louis was topping out at 250 ... but this was back then ... even though it doesn't make it right ...
I wanted to plant pretty gardens, you see ... and needed some help ...
One contractor after another culled out the group ... never bothering to ask any questions ... never bothering to wonder what brought these men here .... ... and I felt like a criminal, which I was, of course ....
OK .... I moved up to Louis and introduced myself and told him I had a small gardening business ... and I needed some help. I watched to see if he understood what I had said .. and he nodded quickly, called me Flacka ... which stuck for the next 12 years ... and the very next words out of his mouth were, "Quiero ser un ciudadano de los Estados Desatados de America. Me pueda mostrar usted como hacer esto?"
There followed a journey which taught me more than I would have ever expected ... ... my little company finally totaled 18 immigrants ... only six illegal ... for Louis and I learned how to work the system ... and first naturalized new ones ... and then struggled through the red tape to make them all official. I never missed a chance to see them raise their hand ... and hold their heart up ... and Pledge Allegiance....
In November, of 2000 ... we all piled into my truck .... and, Mexican music blaring ...pulled up to the voting station ... and pulled the lever for G.W. Bush.
I am the Godmother to Louis' little girl .... and when circumstances dictated ... and I had to give this loved business over to Louis ... who researched ... and found loans ... and funded himself
.... He arrived at my house, of an early Spring day this year ... his crew ... which had been my crew ... planted my flowers in my pots for me ... and, in his quiet dignity, told me ... "Flacka ... you made me what I am ... I bring it back to you."
So. What are we to do with these earnest and heartfelt wanna-be citizens?!
There must be a way ... and I know I broke ALL the rules ... and wouldn't do it now, post September 11th ... still ... they are waiting ... so very much wanting to be a part of us ... and deservingly so ...
Thank you for indulging me ... or not ... depending on the comments to follow ....
This will only ensure that the liberals remain in power and that the wholesale destruction of our rights continues on unabated.
Some people are becoming convinced that the "wholesale destruction of our rights" is being done by members of both parties. I don't want to be subjugated by a 'RAT OR a Republican (even one who is a godly man). I don't want to be subjugated period! There seems little doubt any more that our rights are being destroyed exponentially and by those we thought (or had hoped at any rate) understood the Constitution for whatever reason as well as by those openly anti-Constitution. This is pretty much the crux of what's scaring the crap out of a lot of folks!
Hello liberty! Great posts here by you, kiddo!
Uh, if I am not mistaken, several of the terrorist from 9/11 were in our country illegally.
Am I mistaken?
Yes
In any event, the special interest and other nafarious influences are not going to go away. They would start pumping their money into state legislative elections, thereby spreading their corruption national influence into more local elections.
I also think Senators do a good job of representing their state's respective parochial interests. That is one thing they in fact do well, because it is in their interests to do so. I think what we have identified here is a non solution to what is in part a problem, and in part not a problem at all.

Thanks, as I too want to know what he thinks of the major issues and why.
Ah there is the crux of this thing...THINKING.. Thinking on ones own, keeping away from the personal nonsense. Thinking long term, thinking, there is no right or wrong, good or bad. I have great respect for people that think and I love debate.
I agree completely and will be standing next to you in that last charge. But, it is, without a doubt, too late for getting us back on track, or turning the ship around, or....
Certainly, unless some effort is made at making it an issue, it will never happen.
As to this:
They would start pumping their money into state legislative elections, thereby spreading their corruption national influence into more local elections. It becomes harder to demagogue issues on the local level, because the people involved tend to be known by more of those involved. But your argument is that it would spread corruption (expanding it). Yet clearly, their corrupt influence was augmented by the move to direct elections. Unless you are saying that every time it would change from indirect to direct or vice versa it would increase the currupt influence, I fail to see how the evidence supports that view.
We put this in to minimize corruption and the influence of special interests. Instead, both increased exponentially. Removing what we put in is unlikely to cause more of an increase, and may very well help quell the tide.
