"When I first met Hillary Clinton she was a plain, dumpy woman with glasses and a shawl So she lost the shawl.

I was thinking the exact same thing. It sounds like she just sat there with a stupid smile on her face during the "interview," saying nothing, and then typed in all of her gooey-brained little misgivings in the article. She obviously doesn't like anything Peggy has to say, but she doesn't state that in the interview, and she doesn't refute anything. She just keeps infers that Peggy is, despite her pleasant exterior, a really mean person.

A dank basement, with a door marked To Be Nuked would contain many writhing evil things in turbans.Hmmm... she says that like it's a bad thing...

The terrorists, on the other hand, are like those punch down plastic clowns that come right back up.When one side wants peace and the other wants victory, the peace-side will lose. We have to want victory as much as they do.

Pass the salt. It's the Middle East. We won't need much.

So how did you become a Republican? I ask. Well, I have a book called What I Saw in the Revolution, which came out in 1990. If you order it on Amazon, itll give you all that fact stuff. This would not be the last time I wanted to crawl on to my plate and pull the lettuce over my head.
After this left-wing lightweight crawls out from under her salad, perhaps she can actually READ the book that Peggy recommends.
What a concept!

Here's a good answer to the whining about Padilla's "rights."You're still missing the point. It's not about Padilla or anyone else. It's about government, and the amount of power that would be wise to entrust to them.

Peggy showed a stern backbone in this piece, one I hadn't seen before. She does have fangs, and will use them.Good for you Peggy, keep it up, you are on the right track shaking things up.

You're still missing the point. It's not about Padilla or anyone else. It's about government, and the amount of power that would be wise to entrust to them. No, it is about Padilla. He is a very bad guy who was shown to be a member of the enemy. He had a hearing and the government convinced the court that this was the case. The arguement that the government is ready and interested in applying this same treatement to each of us is simply not demenstrated. When it is demonstrated there are plenty of us who will throw wrenches in the mechanism. Until then, find the transcript of Rush's show today and read it. It well covers this issue, including the "slippery slope" issue you are concerned for.

Hillary still has a shawl, but it looks suspiciously like this:

I think she calls it a pashmina.

He had a hearing and the government convinced the court that this was the case. The Justice Dept. found a sympathetic judge to rule their way (and that must've been real tough), and everything's hunky-dory with you?

Well, if you're willing to show the kind of credulity towards government that you're showing now, then forgive me if I don't have 100% confidence in your decisiveness when the time comes.

I love Peggy Noonan. Therefore, I loved reading this article. Not only because it's about Noonan, but because it illustrates why shallow, tabloid-type social-pages writers shouldn't bother trying to write about a subject as deep as Noonan is.
Despite the author's dismal failure to make Noonan look like a flag-waving, tinfoil-hat wearing, card-carrying member of the VRWC, the author actually manages to make herself look shallow and flighty by contrast!
LOL!

"The Justice Dept. found a sympathetic judge to rule their way (and that must've been real tough), and everything's hunky-dory with you?"He had physical evidence on his person. He confessed. He turned stoolie on some of his compatriots, who ere also arrested....
Yet you persist in writing as though he's guilty of nothing worse than jaywalking.

So she lost the shawl.Except she replaced it with her 'pashima wraps' that she like to wear over 'Old Crusty'. And she replaced her glasses with contacts which make her eyes look continually 'bugged out'!

He had physical evidence on his person. He confessed.Well, sounds like we got a pretty good case against him, then. So I say we put him on trial.

What happens if both Washington and New York are dirty-nuked? she asks. Is it possible? Certainly. Is it likely? Yes. I dont see anyone else doing anything about it, so I guess Ill have to. I think Peggy is right that NY and Washington will be hit. Those of us in the surrounding areas should consider an evacuation plan and discuss it with our families.
To: CT
And if Hillary is "in the White House in 2008", it will only be because she is there visiting the President.
To: Amelia
Poor little Mary Wakefield's supercilious, half-hidden sarcasm was still quite evident, however. Maybe this should have had half a barf alert attached, as Mary's half was pretty snarky.
