Ignore her, leave her posts without any replies. She's only baiting us, looking for some ill-considered reply that she thinks will prove her point about conservatives.
Like a stray dog at the back door begging for a bone she'll slink away eventually.

You might want to look at an article from the April 29, 2002
Washington Post that highlights an interesting alliance between neo-Nazis and Islamic radicals.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?pagename=article&node=&contentId=A64385-2002Apr28
And McVeigh might look like a WASP, but he was influenced by the writings of William Pierce, who also does regular interviews on Radio Iran. This sort of alliance seems to go pretty far back (1991), and as such, McVeigh might have a lot in common. Both National Socialists (Nazi is just a German abbreviation for that, by the way) and these folks who follow the perverted form of Islam that condones suicide bombers and terrorism have one thing in common: Virulent anti-Semitism.
I'm not able to prove that Islamic terrorists aided the Oklahoma City bombing, using home-grown neo-Nazis/far-right-wing groups as the fall guys, but it does warrant a closer look bythe FBI and CIA.
I also personally believe that those who believe in the perverted form are a lot more numerous than some would believe, although I do not believe it applies to ALL of those who practice that religion. We truly appear to be facing an axis of evil, IMHO.

I agree. Interesting to see the connection being made in the AP.
In my opinion, the terrorists have been actively recruiting for years in lots of fringe areas...prisons, radical college groups, ghetto areas, gangs, etc. This is why profiling is only a partial solution.
McVeigh would not have been caught by profiling (unless one did a background check on his connections).
ALL suspicious activity should be reported, whether activity is by Middle Eastern types or not.
I am also struck by the number of stupid attempts we are beginning to see...blatant attempts to buy all sorts of equipment, photo taking of potential targets, etc.
Possible reasons for this include the following:
1.) Because of increased monitoring of communications and the arrests of quite a few folks, the footsoldiers are having to dream up plans themselves, and they are poor at planning and deception.
2.) There is increased pressure to get operations underway because they know their time here will be limited once another big attack occurs.
3.) Big time cash rewards are being offered for the successful accomplisihment of a mission, or relatives in home countries have been threatened if things aren't accomplisihed quickly.
I suggest everyone be extra alert.

Is it just me or does this seem like an extremely important story deserving of front page headlines on every major newspaper in the country?

I take great exception to one of the sentences in this article that said the Clinton Administration beefed up security at Federal Buildings. That is a lie at least as far as the Federal Building in San Antonio which was not beefed up until AFTER the Murrah bombing.
So much for this all being the handiwork of domestic terrorists which I have never believed!

Thanks, bump !

I'm beginning to wonder as well. You'd think, however, that our guys could
come up with something definitive, even given how kringtone tried to suppress
the CIA by effectively ceasing to hire new spies.

And to think just last night I was chastised for saying the DemocRATS were coming on here posting! Strange coincidence that so many newbies that post immediately turn out to be DemocRAT.
I have experience with those folks from the Bush/Cheney Yahoo Group I moderate except on there their anti-Bush, pro-clinton postings come to me for moderation when they are new posters! Since we instituted that, the level of discourse has improved dramatically. Have never seen as much trash sent out as I have witnessed with the email from the DemocRATS in the last few months that are trying to send to a group that has been in existence since 1998. The email I reject is similar in nature to some of these posts on here that have been bashing so much.

Am with you all the way on this one! Have a hunch that the surface has just been scratched. Would guess that one Terry Nichols sitting in the OK County Jail is thinking about what he should do since he is facing 168 counts of murder here in the State Court of Oklahoma.
McVeigh was never going to talk and was becoming a thorn in the side of the survivors and the people of Oklahoma with his interviews trying to claim all the credit and be a martyr. Nichols is a whole different person and for life in prison I will bet he will talk with all this starting to come out.

The U.S. Marshal's Service issued an alert on March 15, 1995, to federal courthouses it protects, including the one in Oklahoma City across the street from where McVeigh's truck bomb killed 168 people, the documents show."Iranian extremists want it made clear that steps are being taken to strike at the Great Satan," a term used frequently in the Mideast to describe the United States, the marshal's memo said. It said a fatwa - a religious order - had been issued to attack marshals or their buildings.
If this is accurate, it means that U.S. intelligence had far better and detailed info on Islamic threats in the mid-90's than it did in 2001. But in 1995, after WTC #1, the feds embraced the domestic terrorists and stomped on all leads to Middle Easterners. In 2001, within minutes, and not even yet knowing the identity of the hijackers, the attack was almost immediately attributed to Bin Laden.

You're right, I guessed originally that she/he/it was an Iranian, but after 'it' sent some freepmails my way it was obvious that this person is just a run-of-the-mill loon, as only a true lefty or someone adopted into their cult starts crying 'racist' when they get flamed on a thread where no one has brought up race.
DU really should persuade its members not to try to freep while 'under the influence.'

I also personally believe that those who believe in the perverted form are a lot more numerous than some would believe, although I do not believe it applies to ALL of those who practice that religion. We truly appear to be facing an axis of evil, IMHO.Steve Harrigan, the Fox News correspondent who's been covering (really covering it, as opposed to Whoraldo), the war/terrorist activity abroad since 9/11, is now stateside (before returning to Israel) and was interviewed on Fox & Friends this AM. A caller asked him a question about Islamic terrorism, and his answer was not encouraging -- the word he used was "discouraging" -- and added that he believes the terrorist situation in Israel is the precursor of what we will see here. He's a man of few words, and the tone of his words were chilling, considering where he's been and what he's seen in the past nine months.

Actually, as this Irish-American has to admit with chagrin, McVeigh was, by origin, an Irish Catholic. Us Irish people don't like to be confused with WASPs, especially those of us who happen to be Catholic: we're neither Anglo-Saxon nor Protestant, so only the "W" of "WASP" applies to us. Methinks AmericaNeedsDemocrats must have an agenda, to so misuse the term.
To: hchutch
I've been convinced of that since the period right before 9/11 (and which stopped 3 days prior) when FR was getting plastered with neo-nazi and palistinian supporters working in tandem.
Another concern of mine is that there were incidents in the 90s where Cuba interfered with the NYC air traffic control system, and Cuba's very recent cozying up to Iran, where Castro spoke before their politicians about bringing the US to its knees, together with Iran.
Something bigger than just al-Qeada has been going on.

It is also a lie with respect to the U.S. Tax Court building in D.C., where I was working as law clerk to a judge at the time of the OKC bombing. Security was stepped up at that building after the bombing, not before, even though U.S. Marshals (according to this article a target of the terrorists) provided security for the building.

I don't know- if there is a link with islamicists, then Nichols is going to clam up tight if he's looking at a life in prison among a bunch of islamic converts. He'll have more to fear from them than he does from the feds.

"IMHO, this seems to add to the likelihood that the people trying to hijack Islam are allying with the neo-Nazis."
I seem to recall a biography on McVeigh where after the Gulf War he had started expressing sympathy towards the Iraqis. I wonder if this led him to Islamic groups within the US? Just a thought.
To: piasa
And I bet Bush knows it. Axis of evil was not a slip of the tongue, IMHO. He used it with malice aforethought, and I bet a lot of the same folks who were leaking stuff to Gertz at
The Washington Times kept this stuff, and gave him the data.
Do you recall some of the thread these disruptors you mentioned hit?
