Good-Bye Cruel Free Republic
6-16-02 | wasfree

Posted on 06/16/2002 5:32:24 AM PDT by magnum opus dejure

Well, it's been 4 years since I first found Free Republic. I have always felt like I belonged here and have really enjoyed the banter back and forth between us members. I am afraid all this is now over. I am really suprised and shocked at it's suddenness. Before I leave I want to thank a freeper from Michigan who sent me a DVD player last year to give to my kids for Christmas. You reaffirmed my faith in humanity.

I know this thread will be deleted before many people get to read it, but I just can't go without saying a final word. Every since 911 the 'vibe' here at FR has been decidedly hostile. I guess it was a matter of time before the newbie moderator got around to weeding me out for my sometimes unpopular views. So I join the ranks of A+Bert and so many others who gave FR a interesting flavor. I will miss coming here 20 times a day and keeping up on things. But without posting priviledges there is just no point. I must go find another conservative group to try to be a part of.

In the future, when a freeper who has been a loyal member since August 1998 crosses the line, how about a note instead of banning? Would that have been too much? I may have gotten out of line, how is beyond me, but if such a tresspass would have been pointed out I would gladly have refrained from doing so again. It is just not right to just ban an account with no explaination. Especially when the freeper has been here 4 years. I have no idea what I am going to do with my days now that I no longer have FR. Well, I guess I have said my part. It is a sad day when one has to leave family and friends. I feel like some of you were just that. But apparently I am no longer wanted around here. I bid my good day to you all and hope that karma pays it's respects to those who do injustice.

The Constitution has not been suspended.

It has been suspended for Jose Padilla. When the Justice Department authorizes it's agents to enter our houses without a search warrant and without probable cause and rummage through our personal effects either our Constitution was been suspended or we have already lost it.

Excuse me, but I am still waiting for your reply to my question about the comment you made as quoted by Granite State Conservative.

M'am, you'll have to forgive me for taking some time to reply. I've committed the awful unpardonable sin of taking a really nice lady out for some very fine food and returning her home at a reasonable hour this Sunday evening. And as strange as this might seem, we didn't even talk about you or Free Republic. Honest. And had I known that you were waiting for my reply, I might have actually considered breaking that pre-arranged dinner. I hadn't realized I had baited you into waiting for me like that although I am pretty darn good at leading someone on in a conversation. In fact M'am I think I could brag a bit about my abilities to engage others in conversation and keep them waiting with baited breath at what I might say next. Yes M'am, I am a master baiter.

Now with all due respect M'am, if you will just look at my reply above, I think I've addressed your questions and comments about masturbation, penis envy and your suggestion that I'm vulgar.

Only when I read them to sleep with the seditious parts of the constitution.

Or one of your posts here. :)

What else can you call his desire to make instant citizens out of millions of illegal aliens? ~~ Reaganesque? 691 posted on 6/16/02 7:33 PM Pacific by Texasforever

Reagan was a great President... not God Incarnate.

As a Libertarian, I am friendly to immigration in economic theory... but the "Facts on the Ground" demand that, when you take on new Business Partners (and the Constitution is a Contract, ain't it?), it's a good thing if the New Partners at least speak your language and respect the Contract.

Far too many illegals do NOT speak the language and do NOT respect the Contract (the Constitution) into which they are entering Partnership.

Existing Partners (citizens) to a Contract have a legal right to demand that New Partners speak the language of the Contract and respect the terms of the Contract. These "Aztlan" nut-bars... DON'T. They are inimicably opposed to the Contract, and indeed -- they desire its overthrow.

Bush, as a General Partner, is not duly representing the interests of the existing Limited Partners when he agrees to take on New Partners such as these.

No grace, no peace!

(got it straight from the leftists in Dallas a few weeks ago, honest!)

They weren't willing to settle for a Sally or a Mary? Tough crowd!

Our patience has been rewarded, --- not with a victory over our enemies, -- but with repressive schemes to tighten security in the 'homeland'.

I hope you wiped yourself and washed your hands after that post.

Yes, I already saw your reply and responded to it.

To recap, the general theme is that you can say whatever you want, and it is intellectual. I must be ladylike at all times and not insult you.

I already got your message.

You might show this thread to the lady you took out to dinner and see what she thinks about it.

Reagan was a great President... not God Incarnate.

Right on both counts. The point is that all presidents are only human and therefore imperfect ESPECIALLIY if they are measured by impossible standards.

Workers unite!

I think that was a typo. He was talking about "sex workers",and was telling them to "Untie".

No. He said American citizens would not be tried by military tribunals. They have already announced that Padilla would not be tried by military tribunal.

My bad...we'll just hold him indefinitely without a trial till he dies of old age. Why doesn't that make me feel better about this?

Have any of you wondered why every misfit American that traveled to Afghanistan can join the Al Queda with no problem yet our intelligence agencies tell us how it is impossible to infiltrate these organizations? How hard can it be when the likes of Jihad Johnny can share a camel with them?

you've made very good points.

I remember seeing a sign once that read: "Dyslexics Untie!"

(PS: Am I the only one wondering if any thread is immune to the "bush bash or pallida" beat down syndrome? If an opus thread can be infected.. What is immue?)

Remember when we were able to critique the government and our representatives without being flamed by so-called conservatives? Remember when we only had to worry about true liberal disruptors and Eschoir?

Yup,but that was back in the days when Bubba-1 was in the White House.

What the hell happened to this place?

An alleged Republican got elected, and a lot of people drank the Kool-Aid.

Yeah, and then Osama bin Laden decided to declare war on America and perpetrated the worst sneak attack on our soil since Pearl Harbor. Too bad that some people around here don't support us when we're at war.

I agree totally with everything except the percentages of The Palestinian Mandate. It was 90-10, not 99-1. Either way, the Arabs did in fact renege on the treaty. They immediately went to attack Israel, got their backsides kicked, Israel seized their land as a result of being attacked in an act of war, and ever since the Palestinians have claimed the phony statement of "Israeli occupation."

From either a secular or religious point of view, there is absolutely NO reason to take the Palestinian side. Israel belongs to Israel. Period. End of story.
