This week, Senate Democrats fully communicated their true beliefs to watchful eyes across the country. When it comes to "complicated" issues and debates, many liberals would rather the ordinary citizen have no earthly clue as to what the politicians are talking about.
Evidently, many liberals believe that ignorance is bliss for a Democrat's constituents. Most of the time, the holes in their political arguments are like Swiss cheese, full of baseless accusations and unbelievable gaps in their so-called "research."
This has come from a recent tax debate that made its way to the Democratic-controlled Senate. As with nearly every tax-cut issue, the Dems come out swinging, and it doesn't matter whether their charges can be backed up or not.
This has been greatly shown through the charges of the Democrats on the issue of the repeal of the estate tax.
Top Senate liberals were having a field day on Wednesday. Their greatest attack was that the bill was "tax relief for billionaires." Essentially, Democratic senators say that the bill, which was authored by rich Republicans, is only for rich people and big business and against the little guy.
"Strip it all away, this is a tax relief for billionaires when we have a very big deficit and we have other priorities," charged Sen. Byron Dorgan. Those priorities are obviously not for the hard working, tax-paying American people.
However, the simple and uncomplicated fact is that tax breaks always give the "big guy" a break. It's obvious that the more you earn, the more taxes you'll have to pay. Therefore, when there is a tax break, it will always save a wealthy person a substantial amount of money.
On the other hand, as with all across-the-board tax cuts, it will always help the "little guy," because it is all done in percentages. As with the estate tax repeal, a 100 percent tax-break for a middle-class family is the same thing as 100 percent break for a higher-class family.
The greatest kicker was when Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle said that the repeal of the death tax would harm the economy! Again, the simple and uncomplicated rule of economics states that the less a product costs, the more it will be bought. So, the money that is saved from the death of the estate tax, a person is likely to buy, invest or expand.
If it weren't for the needed super-majority that was put in place by our illegitimate Senate majority leader, the bill would have been passed by the Senate and made its way to the president's desk. The bill was voted in favor 54-44, but came short of a 60-vote majority.
In addition, besides showing their faulty arguments, Democrats and Republicans have shown their extreme hypocrisy when it comes to the farm bill and the estate tax.
The farm bill was created and passed to offer relief to farmers across the country. Especially in tough economic times and droughts, the relief was out to help farmers and ranchers survive.
However, no matter how much money you can offer a farmer in relief, I ask of the congressmen, what's the point? Because when the farmer and rancher die, the death tax will eventually eat up everything that's left!
The estate tax is nothing short of legalized theft. The government taxes you your whole life, you work hard, die, and the government then takes everything you worked hard for in life.
Furthermore, instead of the person's posterity taking hold of their rightful inheritance, the government seizes it and continues to redistribute wealth.
It is obvious that many of our so-called "representatives" would much rather us be an ignorant and incompetent society, so they can have free reign to do as they please and bring our country down the road of destruction. Our country has come from the way it was meant to be a free country and market to a socialist nation with politicians pulling the wool over our eyes.
By rejecting this bill, many senators have shown their true colors. Those colors are that of communism, socialism, anti-business and anti-capitalism.
Mega ping coming up....;^)
In short...... The democrats are spoilers of the American dream.
Exactly! They have spent their 40 years of Congressional control to dumb down our schools - thereby giving them a "stupid" constituency which they could control.
My theory is this - It's partly spiritual, and it's partly due to homeschooling. No longer is the constituency stupid - there are conservative clubs springing up on a lot of college campuses. Also, now that the dems realize they will be losing total control of the Congress AGAIN (in 2002), they are pulling out all the stops. What they don't realize is this: this tactic is going to assure they don't win in November.
Hey, John - are you going to Vegas??
