Why wouldn't I live by that concept? Not Christian because I do not believe in religion.

How does attacking all Muslims undermine our efforts in our war against nearly all Muslims?

Instead of having nearly all Muslims fighting you, you have all Muslims fighting you.

How can that possibly be better?

It helps identify whom we need to kill. First we start with the several score million known young Islamist men. Then we kill any Muslim who objects, and so on and so on, up to 1.5 billion if necessary -- which it is not likely to be.

#8 is the most laughable - if they're not barbaric and backward, why do they want so many Americans in the sandbox - because they like and want to help us?

I must be dense. I don't get the point of killing Muslims who are on our side.

If they object to our dealing with the Islamists, they are NOT on our side, by definition. Any Muslims on our side will be cheering when we kill the Islamists, or at least keeping their mouths shut.

Hey, Ex-Marine.

I am the last one to defend Islam, but by your definition of what constitutes the "Christian" God, you would therefore postulate that the Jews don't worship the same God we do, simply because they don't accept Christ as the Son that of God.

YOUR statemnt is both absurd and religiously bigoted. Read some books about comparative theology. Allah, Yahweh and "God" are the same person whether or not you accept Christ as his son.

Hey, Ex-Marine, I agree with you to a degree and certainly am not a subscriber to the theory that Islam is a peaceful religion.

What I am saying is that the face of modern Fundamentalist Islam is the face of the Wahhabi sect, that not all Muslims are Wahhabists, and that Wahhabism is NOT traditional Islam.

Anyone who has read a modicum of history knows that in the PAST, Christians and Jews fared far better under Islam than did Muslims under Christianity. Although in the PAST, Christians and Jews were allowed to practise their faith under Islam, Jews were barely tolerated, frequently persecuted and continually attacked under CHristian rule. Muslims under Christian rule were either exterminated or driven out - very quickly - most so-called "Christians" of the time apparently believing Muslims were Pagans as you seem to.

Islam, Christianity and Judaism have the same roots, worhsip essentially the same God and practise a religion based on morality and ethics. If anything, Islam and Judaism are purer forms of Monotheism than is Christianity with its confusing concept of three equal person in one devine entity.

Traditional Muslims believe in One God, they believe in all the Judaic prophets, they consider Christ the product of a Virgin Birth and the second most important prophet next to Mohammad. They also consider Jews and Christians as people of the Book, i.e. people whose religion is based on the same beliefs as theirs, yet not fully evolved as they have not accepted Mohammad and the Koran - sort of the same way Christians have traditionally accepted Jews - when they weren't burning them at the stake.

I hate people who are trying to kill me or destroy my country. I don't hate people because of their essential religious beliefs. They can believe what they want as long as thye leave me and my country alone and personally, I'd be happier if Muslism were kept out of here until this terrorism can be stopped. But I'm not a religious bigot. I think you are. All roads that lead to God are Good Roads, as long sa they are not built over the corpses of other Human Beings.

I'm missing something here..............

You claim to believe in 'god' (or at least believe there IS a god), but you also say you don't believe in religion.  (I'll take this statement to mean that you don't PRACTICE an organized religion.)

How then, should men relate to this god?

the Jews don't worship the same God we do, simply because they don't accept Christ as the Son that of God.
If I may butt in here, let me say that Christianity says that Jesus, of Nazareth, is the SON of God, AND IS god!

There is the rub. Christ, the man, in the flesh, is God Almighty.

As prophecied so long ago..........

Isaiah 9:6-7
6. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

And on the testimony of others.........

John 20:24-29
 24.  Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came.
 25.  So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!"   But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."
 26.  A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!"
 27.  Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."
 28.  Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
 29.  Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

 John 10:30-33
 30.  I and the Father are one."
 31.  Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him,
 32.  but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?"
 33.  "We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God."

I have nothing to substantiate my belief in God, to me it's not necessary, it's just faith. One doesn't need an organized religion to believe in God. Since you agree that there is only one God, why did you say this god? I don't understand what you mean by relating to God.

Absolutely correct, there is only one God, names don't matter. When a person prays to God, the only God hears that prayer.

Elsie, you're probably a nice lady. But you are missing the point.

If you believe in God the Father of Christ, you believe in the same God as Yahweh and Allah. Its the same Person.

Sometimes I think Christian fundamentalists are as obtuse as their fundementalist Muslim brethren.

Is it the lack of a capital 'G' you are questioning here?

One doesn't need an organized religion to believe in God. I don't understand what you mean by relating to God.

Does this 'G'od you believe in (no name given) have any interaction with humans?

Elsie, you're probably a nice lady. (I'm not...)But you are missing the point. (probably...... our definition of words may be different so we are talking past one another.)

Do you know the old tale, of the blind men and the elephant? Well, humans are the same when trying to discribe 'god', God, G-d or GOD. (Did I include enough different spellings to satisfy most people? I purposely left out Jehovah, Yahweh, YHWH, Allah, Krishna......)

MY definition of 'fundamentalist' would be a person that believes that what is written in his 'holy book' is true, and tries to follow that. That will exclude the others, who may say that they are believers, too, that somehow do NOT think that many things in the book is true, and substitute their OWN ideas about how to live.
