Rule #1: Don't marry a Saudi.

There do not need to be any more rules, if one follows this one. Don't do it.

Interesting. I wonder did CAIR see the abcnews story?

Actually, the point about it being 'discriminatory' is just wrong. The travel.state.gov site has a lot of information for Americans planning to marry nationals of various other countries.

goldenstategirl marrying a Muslim = Hell freezing over

I don't think you mean these two events would happen at the same time, do you? I think you mean Hell would have to freeze over first, right?

One American wife discovered that her Saudi husband had married her best friend, also and (sic) American, while he was on vacation in the U.S.

This is interesting. He married his second wife while in the US. Every state in the union prohibits bigamy. The state that issued the license for the second marriage would not not have issued it if it had known about the first marriage. He would have had to lie on the application for a marriage license.

MR. PIPES: They said it was discriminatory.

Discriminatory? From my time in Kingdom this guide book is an understatement. It paints a grim picture but to me it doesn't go far enough.

Well, how can this be? I seem to have heard that moslems believed in peace, love, and tolerance. (Chuckle)

Do you think this is a laughing matter?

Do women have any rights at all under Sharia law?

The right to have the weigh of their testimony be equal to 1/2 that of a man's.

Sorry but I agree 100%. Stupidity is sadly too common. Frankly, this American girl would rather slit her own throat than marry an Arab.

SOME COMMENTS

Of the Millions of Muslims that live in this country, and the Millions of Muslims who live outside our country, I find it hard to believe that everyone of them are so intolerant of Christians. If this were true then it would indicate that the Bosian Conflict is but a small sample of what the World can expect to experience.

That frightens me.

As it indicates that the Crusades and the environment that resulted in the Dark Ages is about to go, once again, into full bloom. I am only hope that this is not the case.

We of all races and religions must really understand the forces at work here and do our best to shut down the influences that are attempting to destroy Civilization and Society as we have come to understand them.

Give it time. You know who hasn't arrived yet to put the sword to my neck for blasphemy.

Yes, same difference. If it hadn't yet, I would hope the bowels of Hell would open up and pull me in to save me from a worse fate.

If I ever have the temporary insanity to marry( excluding girls much richer than myself) I don't think I'd want my wife eating fatty stuff like that too often.

I know you are getting grief from some readers here, but this is actually a valuable document and I for one am glad you posted it. My own personal belief is that "friends don't let friends marry fundamentalist Muslims," and this information should be *required reading* for anyone thinking about it.

I saw that showing of the movie "Not Without My Daughter" also, and then took the book out of the library and read it twice. In that wife's case, her Iranian husband had lived and worked in the USA for twenty years. The Iranian revolution radicalized him, and he kept his wife and daughter hostage when they visited his relatives in Iran. It is a fascinating read.

That book will scare the socks off of *any* woman with more than two brain cells. While I don't feel that sympathetic either, the problem is that women at universities, especially, are *courted* by these guys. They find them charming, marry them before seeing the "home country" first hand, and don't even think what's going to happen when their husband wants to go back with kids in tow.

The bad part is that if the kids are born here, they're citizens. But once the kids are taken to Saudi Arabia, or Iran, or probably a host of other wahhabi or fundamentalist Islamic countries, they're considered the father's "property." The woman *can* divorce her husband under Islamic law and get out (if he doesn't kill her first, that is) but then the children are left to their fate. The kids don't deserve that - which is why everyone is concerned.
