In The People of the Lie, M. Scott Peck, listing the various traits of the truly evil, says, "They are astonishingly greedy."

Goodness I hope he runs again. All kinds of jokes about sticky fingers and wanting a second chance at looting the WH.

Mrs. Fierro & I just finished watching Blackhawk Down.

When I compare the gritty heroism displayed by those troops against the petty cowardice of Al Bore, I want to puke.

He probably thought it was a bust of a Star Trek character.

The former second couple managed to hang onto the statue till July 11, 2001, which, of course, was also inadvertent.

Uh huh. See how you are, algore. /sarcasm.

Well hey, anyone can make a mistake! I am sure the Gore's didn't realize that a bust of Abe wasn't theirs! I can see anyone making a mistake like that can't you?
Sometimes when I pass a Mercedes sports car, I think, "Hey, that's my car man!"
Who could blame me if I picked the lock and drove it home and put it in my garage for say, 6 months or so?
Afterall, I thought it was mine didn't I?

Gore was probably trying to use the bust as model for his new look for the 2004 Presidential bid, more beard, less moustache.

Give the guy a break! He probably still had the bust because he was trying to puzzle out who it was!

The New York Post reported President Clinton inadvertantly packed two busts of FDR and JFK that belong to the Smithsonian and were on loan to the oval office.

An alert White House usher helped unpack them and send them back to the Smithsonian.

Since he didn't know who the busts were in Monticello in '93, after 8 years he obviously gained enough knowledge so that he thought this particular bust was of himself and decided it was okay to take it with him.

"An ex-Gore staffer told the GAO that other Gore aides had "inadvertently packed" the Lincoln bust and shipped it off to the Gore homestead, reported the New York Post."

Just like Bill and Hillary inadvertently wound up with 900 FBI files. These people have no shame much less honesty.

"Inadvertently"! Yeah, like OJ "inadvertently" cut a couple of people's heads off.

There is a video of Gore and Clinton touring a building with busts of various Founding Fathers on pedestals. When Gore asked the curator who the busts were of, the curator said, "This one is Benjamin Franklin, this one is George Washington..."
