The police talking head specifically said "he's not a suspect."

For the record, I checked my *sent* freepmail as far back as May 4, 2002...I never sent you *anything*.
Try telling the truth. It'll set you free.

choc latte bar?! oh yum!

And the police have been extremely careful to say that the guy is not a suspect, that they just want to question him, to see if he saw anything Monday morning. I was struck this evening as I watched Hannity & Colmes how careful the SLC policeman was with his words. And I also thought Sean Hannity's questions were very stupid. For once, Alan Colmes handled himself 100% better than Hannity did.

Stop with the chocolate talk, it is making me crave it, and I don't have any in the house. :)

See Reply No. 176.
And you're right; my charm's at an all-time low. The signal-to-noise ratio on FR lately has been so low it doesn't register on the most sensitive equipment. It's just exasperating to me, that's all.

He couldn't remember the FReeper name in the first place; so in all fairness, it's probably not you he was referring to.

actually, I caught the comment about the lie detector test, but I wasn't surprised as I would assume that most or all of the close adult family members would have been polygraphed as normal police procedure in a case like this that isn't resolved within hours...but the uncle, BIZZARO!

Heavens! Go to the Godiva site and virtually taste it. That's what I do!

I agree totally with you...! - Who's to say this perp did not intentionally cut the screen from the inside, just so something like this would be said or thought. BTW... On MSNBC, Ashleigh Banfield was in a sit down interview with a Utah Policeman or Detective and he acknowledged that is WAS the kitchen window they think prep came through. Kitchen windows are NOT small windows!

Ha! I fixed a glass of chocolate milk, that should put me to sleep. Thanks for the offer though.

Have no fear, I am not a psychic but I play one on the www. I see mountains, I see a large body of water. I see something blue. I see something pointy like a church steeple, I see the letter M, I see someone who looks like they are on their knees, are they praying? I hear a noise, it's a car, no it's a dog barking, I see....please deposit $500 for the next five minutes...

Well I hear where you are coming from. You are correct about the excessive gossip and overextrapolation. Crucify Barabas has been shouted on FR more than once.(I try and refrain but am also guilty at times) So a dose of common sense, logic, and an urge for restraint does make sense.
To: krunkygirl
I can't remember the article, but I read somewhere today that several family members had been polygraphed. The police are holding their cards close to their chest in this one, that is for sure.

My opinion is neither I, nor you, nor anyone else on this thread--nor this guy Mark KLASS, for that matter--knows enough about what is really going on in this episode to even volunteer a theory sensible enough to fit on one of those comic strips you used to get in a piece of Double Bubble Gum.
My opinion ain't about the Smart kidnapping, it's about the LACK of smarts of far too many FReepers here.
And I'll lay you odds: When this thing is solved, and IF the perp is someone COMPLETELY outside the circle of family members being discussed here, NOT ONE of those who yammer on so confidently right now about it will have the intestinal fortitude to publicly say "gee, I was wrong, and I'm sorry."

There have been several people on these threads who have been ridiculed for saying some very accurate, albeit very unpopular things. When all is said and done, we'll be owed apologies but I'm not holding my breath.
