a [Hispanic] man was seen forcing a blond girl about 8-years-old into a white and brown Ford pickup truck

And what, everybody just stood there and did nothing? I feel so sad for kids these days, most adults are to messed up themselves to be decent parents

sixtycyclehum said: "Well, I was walking to school much younger than that when I was young. Difference being is that we didn't seem to have all these dirtbags and poster boys for vigilantism running around. As i've said in the past, a good old fashioned public hanging or even a drawing and quartering would surely deter any of these a-holes."

The liberal solution was to force sex offenders to register so that we would know where they live. Unfortunately, they don't live in prison so the information has to be used to locate the children's bodies.

She must be the only blond girl in Pomona. I don't agree that the entire town is gang turf. I know a delightful Mexican family that lives there and their neighborhood is just fine.

Seems like this sort of thing is happening all the time now

Stranger abductions are still extremely rare. I heard on the news this afternoon that police now have reason to believe that the little girl in Utah was abducted by someone she knew. Of course, they are saying very little, just that it's thought the person has already been interviewed, or will be interviewed soon. No other details. The point is, observe the people around you closely and don't ignore your instincts.

Its important for parents to teach their children to not go with a stranger even at gunpoint.

You are so right. I have told my kids for years to turn and run screaming from anyone who tries to get them to do something by pointing a gun or telling them they have a gun. Does anyone on FR remember the case of Jacob Wetterling? He was abducted while riding his bike with friends in his hometown in Minnesota. He was 13 at the time (I think, not sure); he should have got on his bike and rode like hell. He has never been seen again. What I tell my children is that there are some things worse than death.

I made this point to both my wife and kids. Better to take your chances in a public place. Its a chance either way...go with the odds.

When I worked fast food I always told my managers when I got hired that "I will never obey a robber if he tells me to go in the walk-in freezer. That will never happen." You might not get shot if you go in the walk-in freezer, but your odds of death are pretty high in there.

I see young kiddos walking home from school all the time. So many parents live a life of false security. Or apathy.

I pray this young child is found soon. Hopefully a picture will be posted soon.

ping.

Well, north Pomona isn't bad...by the LA Fairgrounds, but there are definitely parts of Pomona that I agree about finding a blond girl much less allowing her to walk alone...my x-brother-in-law grew up in Pomona and it was awful then! I wouldn't live in Pomona if you GAVE me a house there!
