The article is on Page 73 of the Magazine and is by the owner of Fred's M-14 Stocks. He entitles it, "Breath of Fire" a Scary Book.

I just read a white hot new book on the start of World War III, called "Dragon's Fury - Breath of Fire" by Jeff Head.

The first of five volumes, it is well worth the read because it shows how easy it would be in the world today for us to go - in a few months - from superpower to embattled ...under a threat even more massive than World War II.

Naturally, our Chinese friends are at the bottom of it, just like they will be in real life. (Before the outbreak of World War II with Japan, farsighted authors were portraying a war with Japan in prophetic fiction, one forecasting the Japanese advance on the Philipines - and the attack on Pearl Harbor! I sure hope Jeff doesn't have the same foresight, for, if he does, we are in for some rough sledding.) ...

The huge Chinese trade surplus today is financing a Chinese military build-up. The Japs were smart, tough enemies, and the Chinese are going to be tough, hard-to-beat enemies also. Truly, "those who do not remember history are condemmed to repeat it." ...

Who all have you sent manuscripts to?

There is an agent (no official contract as yet) who is sending them out. He picked it up s a result of his friendship with the owner of PocketPCPress who gave a GREAT review of the book early on and who is publishing the Microsoft Reader version of the book. He's with a firm, Waterside Productions, in San Diego and has had some success ith non-fiction in the past ... but fiction is new to him. After a couple of months of efforts with the manuscript myself, I was grateful to have any agent at all. He's sent them to a number of main publication houses. Thus far no one has bit.

I told him that I will keep promoting it myself anyway I can, despite not having funds, etc. for major advertising. It has taken all I can do to get it written, printed up (print on demand) and into circulation the way I have it (Using Lightning Source who is owned by Ingram). I am committed to writing all five books (the second of which will come out late this month).

I figure if I keep it up ... momentum will build (like with this review) and ultimately someone will take note and pick it up.

Thank you bro. The entire Shotgun News thing is a result of your efforts and pointing me that way and getting me in touch with Fred's. I never would have sent him a book to read without your input and suggestion.

As it was, I had no idea he'd finished it or what his impression was until tet68 pointed me to the magazine artcile that he had read.

I hope it all leads to broader exposure. ... building blocks.

Thank you for those extremely kind words ... they are far too kind.

I appreciate the encouragement and support. I am committed to writing all five novels in this series irrespective of large exposure or not ... but am hoping that expereinces nd events like this will lead to larger exposure for the messages couched in this story.

I was just telling Fred Mertz the other day how it had been a while since that meeting in Northern Kentucky with Ron Paul. Several of us FReepers were there as you know. I will be in Vegas for the big FR meeting and Fred will be there too. Hope you and yours can make it.

Originally there is no doubt that what you say is true, the blend originated in China ... but the name Earl Grey was given to it for a reason and I am approaching it from that perspective. In addition, the work is purely a work of fiction (though that fictional tale is used to couch some messages that I consider to be very relevent to today) ... so I hope you wont hold too much against the work as a result.
