Now what brought that on? I've seen you post some fairly scathing remarks at times.

Rush throwing FR an bone. Truth is he thinks everyone on FR is a nutbag.

Say what you will, but one of Rush's quips about FR was the reason I found Free Republic in the first place.

" If we hadn't had "ideologically pure" third-party candidates in Nevada in 1998 and Washington State in 2000, we'd still have the Senate and the Jefford switch would be absolutely meaningless."

So if you don't have an 'R' or 'D' beside your name, you can't get on the ballot?

For not checking, trusting, waiting to see, but just jumping on Bush with both big feet.

That's what he did to X42 and it catipulted him to the top.

Unfortunately, with Prez. Bubba it was usually true and with President Bush it is likely not true.

If the ratings slip, Rush will change. He always has before (like when he spent so much time talking about cigars) and he will again. He is an entertainer, not a pundit, and not an employee of the GOP.

Shalom.

Oh, I see. That makes a lot of sense.

OK. Since you don't read my posts, I won't reply to you any more.

I agree with you. I think where I disagree is the idea that anyone who disagrees with the President on any issue is a "far right winger, embittered by their loss in the primary."

I am not a far right winger, and I am a Bush supporter. I just happen to think that Rush's criticism on the global warming debacle, while typically overboard in its character, was accurate.

I was not going to stop supporting the President before he distanced himself from the report, and I am not certainly going to stop supporting him now. Yet, just because I refuse to join in on the attacks on Rush as a unpatriotic neo-liberal/neo-right-winger, I have been virulently attacked in this very thread. I think everyone, on all sides of this debate, needs to take a breath and collect their wits.

They denounced Clinton's supporters for doing the same thing that they themselves are doing right now.

This is uncalled for. Bush is not a felon. Nor is he a rapist. Nor does he endanger national security for campaign contributions.

I think you're right but not about O'Reilly. Ole Bill is trying but I don't beleive he will overcome Rush. I don't think he can beat Sean Hannity nor Hugh Hewitt, either.

Demanding the political equivalent of Pickett's Charge, again?

Posting that lame analogy again?

Did you do the young bull/old bull song and dance yet?

For a family so famously demanding of loyalty, they need to practice what they preach in that regard.

Bump. And don't forget the oathe of office, the promise to faithfully 'preserve, protect and defend the United States, and the Constitution...'

Is that a promise? Are you sure you can resist calling me a "misogynist" because I criticize Bush when he deserves it?

I am pointing out the RESULTS. I don't think John Ensign ever qualified as a RINO. Same goes for Slade Gorton. Maybe I don't agree with them all the time, but I agree with them more often than not, so I'll stick with `em.

The fact is that getting involved in the local organization is fine by me, but if my guy doesn't win the nomination, I will back the nominee, and I expect it of others in the organization.

And if someone in a local organization (like John Warner or Donnie DiFrancesco, to name two prominent examples) DOES stab a nominee in the back, then I'm going to work to root them out. That's how I approach things.

Tell me, if your guy loses the Republican primary, do you run off to a third party?

The families of those coming home, in flag draped coffins, are not amused by Rush calling the Commander in Chief, George W. Algore. It compounds their pain, to hear Rush claim that the man who ordered their son into battle, may as well have been Al Gore. Rush might as well have called Bush-George W. Clinton or Hillary Rodham Bush, as they all supported Al Gore's environmental positions. No one can possibly take Rush seriously anymore-his desire to ruin Bush has overridden his sense of common decency.

I am not going to repeat my comments about the environmental stuff...they are there in other threads, and after all, I don't want to BORE anyone like Sunshine Sister with repetition.

My objection is not to disagreement. It is to the personal, hateful manner in which the disagreement was raised, and the way it was conducted in this forum.

Rush is the only political source for a lot of people. Instead of taking a reasoned, calm approach to this issue, he attacked the President personally. Of what value is that?

For Rush to claim his rant the other day caused the President to come out and rip that report is galling.

Would Bush have come out and ripped the report if there was no firestorm from Rush and Hannity? I suspect nothing would have been said - after all, it would've been a nonstory, and talking about it would've made it a story.
