If Bush raised taxes today, (since we are at war for cryin' out loud!) would you support it? Tell me, what would it take before you even think of criticizing the President? Defense cuts? New Welfare programs? Nationalized health care?

Miss Maple has been asked that same question many times by many posters and she refuses to answer - at least I've never seen an answer to the question.

"BUMP your #14....I've been thinking similar thoughts watching all this unfold....darn I had the radio off when Rush made the 'Freeper' remark!"

I have it on audio tape, and I'm sure he'll have it on his web site later today. :D

Brokaw is our enemy. Rush is not. I do not listen to Rush because I don't listen to the radio. I read him from time to time and I read David Limbaugh all the time. I used to watch Rush's TV show. I am not saying Rush is perfect or anything, but whether you are right in your criticism of him or not (I would disagree) it should be weighed against his accomplishments for conseratives, which have been many.

What are you going to do when Bush is gone, especially if a RAT takes the helm? You and I are going to be left with the conservatives people listen to, hoping they are still on our side helping us out. We have so few friends in the media why in the world would anyone want to get rid of Rush? He's a conservatives best friend. He reaches millions. Bush should be called on his mistakes. I respect that.

Demanding the political equivalent of Pcikett's Charge, again?

I did not know you were that eager to keep Pat Leahy running the Senate Judiciary Committee, and to hand the House Judiciary Committee over to John Conyers... Yeah, sure there's no difference between the parties. Just ask Judge Pickering. If we hadn't had "ideologically pure" third-party candidates in Nevada in 1998 and Washington State in 2000, we'd still have the Senate and the Jefford switch would be absolutely meaningless.

Much as I dread hearing the answer to this, I cannot stop myself from asking you WHAT THE HELL THAT MEANS?

I used to work at Sea World. You can ask me anything.

Gay whales, interspecies... seen it all.

A British marine-wildlife expert was interviewed and he said that the dolphin wasn't really attempting to shag the swimmers, he was just extending the 'finger of friendship'.

Consider the hand of a Sasquatch.

Too small.

If Bush raised taxes today, I would expect an explanation which would justify it. Otherwise, I would oppose it.

I do not support the Education Bill, but he campaigned on it and it passed. That's the way it goes.

Apparently you all think that those of us who support Bush would stand idly by while he had illicit sex with interns, commited treason, lied under oath, and pushed leftist programs. That is not the case.

Dan Quayle was on Fox and supported the President, calling him a conservative and explaining that much of what he does is what ALL presidents (including Reagan) do. Are you calling Dan Quayle a Bushbot?

By the way, go right ahead and call me a Bushbot. I don't care one whit.

Yup, Rush is about as entertaining as a root canal.

His ego has him thinking it's all about him.

It's about our young men in the military on the front lines. The servicemen who are risking their lives while he is denigrating the commander in chief so he'll get a mention by some liberal enemy of our country.

Nice going Rush!

Let me add that I have a mind of my own and #41's tax increase didn't bother me. He was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. At that point it was a checkmate. He made the wrong decision but it didn't bother me much. In my view, Bush's mistakes have been bigger and for pure politcal reasons....most disturbingly, for selfish political reasons, not for the good of the party or conservative cause. For a family so famously demanding of loyalty, they need to practice what they preach in that regard.

"Good song, but Shanklin's Dubyuh sounds eerily like his Clinton...MUD"

I know!! He needs to work on his south "western" accent. He spent so much time perfecting his "Clinton southern" accent, it just creeps in. :D

Look at the threads on FR ... this place is LewRockwell 2. It's been seized. Mexican Immigration, Civil War Grievences, Bush's Betrayals to Conservatives, conspiracies and intrigue ... it's cuckoo corner.
Actually, it's been worse.

Remember the flame wars of '98-'99 when almost every other thread was about Y2K, American concentration camps, contrails, the Trilateralist/CFR/Bilderburger/Illuminati menace and every other kind of conspiracy nitwittery imaginable?

Remember when Newt Gingrich resigned and one of FR's most prominent posters opined it was an example of the New World Order flexing its muscles?

That having been said, Free Republic still has its share of crackposts and they aren't exactly bashful about their crankery.

Nice, abusive personal attack. Note that I did not attack you. So, you'd rather people like me (I'm not sure what that is, actually) would just go away and not volunteer for Bush or contribute to his campaign, because we may, on occasion, disagree with him on something?

Perhaps we should have a Republican Loyalty Oath that we sign before we post here.
