07 I wouldn't worry much with ol' concerned. Last night it was trolling for takers about it's not being allow to pray in the public square.... It just meanders around looking throwing out bait. But then it does have to ponder why the numbers among Republicans are so high....

Bush's job approval rating among Republicans is in the low 90s and a bit higher among strong Republicans, according to an Ipsos-Reid poll and others.

So, you don't want them to have more money and you don't them to have the same rights of investigation as any small town police force, yet you're yapping about being "protected".

How you propose the FBI and the CIA protect us if they can't look for terrorists and they can't have more money? Are you a pal of Bianca Jagger's? Jane Fonda? Or are you a freelance moron?

As of today, I have lost all remaining respect for Rush.

Ditto!

excellent post, joanie. the point that our criticizers are missing is that we are not just disappointed with this one issue. it's this on top of all the rest!

btw, it is true, isn't it, that mr. bush promised to not drill off the florida coast? isn't that another cave-in to the environmentalists? i'm not counting chickens before they hatch, but i expect a change of mind on anwar next.

Bush has proposed a logical and restrained policy toward the study of global warming.

Since when do logical or restrained policies work with democrats, especially when you have conceded the high ground by agreeing with them?

He has refused to become involved in Kyoto because it harms America. He kills terrorists because they harm America.

Bush has also left our borders wide open to terrorists, continues to allow immigration from Muslim nations that harbor terrorism, refuses to enforce our nation's immigration laws, keeps an open borders libertarian in charge of the INS, has banned profiling in airports, pursues amnesty for lawbreaking illegal aliens, allows Mexico to mettle in our domestic affairs and otherwise push us around.

When it comes to protecting Americans against terrorism and standing up for our sovereignty as a nation Bush is about as wimpy as they come.

What right did you lose since 2000?

For starters, I lost my Right to my property! And I lost my actual propertry. Everytime your socialist government spends an extra $billion or so, guess where they get it? Is Bush funding all his give-away subsidies with his personal money? And when was the last time the government produced anything? Seems to me they get people like you to vote for them so they can steal money from others. I just helped bail out the corporate farmers, steel workers, teachers' union, etc., etc. And pretty soon you, me, and Bush will be saving Africa from AIDS.

The "one world order"...HAHAHAHA!!!! That's a great one. You guys are priceless!

The one world order was GWs Father. That was Bush Sr. He wanted to pull a huge coillition together. It was his idea. He refered to it as "the one world order" in his speeches.

Geez. If someone refuses to bow down and worship the ground GW walks on, they get crusified! Talk about a cult mentality!

He did it as a favor to his brother or would you prefer Janet Reno as Governor of Florida? The Green Party gave Nader 90,000 votes in Florida in 2000. If not for Nader, Gore would be President.

Mueller is reorganizing the FBI haven't you heard? The FBI has 11,000 employees. I'd love to see your recommendations on how you would reorganize.

I think this one sentence that has sent everyone ballistic, could
have been dropped in by an enviromole at EPA.

Irrational response number 2#, blame it on Clinton hold overs.

it seems to me that we've spent about a trillion dollars over the last two decades funding our intelligence agencies and it turns out they didn't know any more about what was going on 9/11 than i did!!

seems like with a budget like that, they could have infiltrated Al Quaida(sp) -- especially since johnny walker did it with no money.

you know, deb, i don't resort to personal attacks and name calling. because we are having a debate and disagreement about how we view things is no reason to ask me if i am a freelance moron!!

Even intelligence agencies have to work under the restraints of law. As it turned out, before 9/11 you as a private citizen had more statutory rights to investigate crimes than they did.

The Patriot Act and the new guidelines for the FBI were to help with that...

I remember when the Patriot Act was passed... A thread just like this one against it...

So, would you honestly rather have the CFR stopped and buried forever or would you prefer that the enemies of our freedom have it for several more years to club any officer-seeking conservative with?

Looks like you're the dishonest one...as if we didn't know.

I'm sure that Bush would rather be attacked by political midgets like you for his "dishonesty", than have the CFR around to do its damage. Mitch McConnell and the rest of the team that will be taking CFR to the Supremes, are happy as clams that Bush signed it. Now they can make sure it dies.

You seem to be one of those "principled" conservatives who trash Bush when he beats the Left at their own game. Campaign finance a big issue for you? Yeah, sure it is.

"Woe indeed."

However, you have never liked GW and nothing will change that. Neither have all of the Axis of Whining Weasels here on this thread

Wow, what did I do to you? I did like Bush, enough to vote for him, and argued for him to many of my liberal associates I work with. However, when my liberal associates come in and are praising Bush for what he's doing, there might be an issue or two I need to revisit and look at again. It's not just this article, it's a lot of what he has done in office.

What? I can't be a Constitutionalist Conservative if I don't back Bush? What am I then? I'm not libertarian, at least I don't think I am. I'm sure as heck not liberal. But apparently if I don't fall in line and in step with current Bush supporters, I'm labeled as the worst scum of the earth imaginable. Are we supposed to stop thinking when 'our' candidate gets into office and let him run ramshod over every liberty and guideline the Founding Fathers held dear?

Righ now, you don't have a choice over how Bush and his team conduct the prosecution of the War on Terror. So, far, they've done a very good job, and he and his team will be pro-active in bringing regimes to heel. But, rest assured, he won't tell us how he'll do it ;-)Let's fight the Muslim savages first and worry about the nuances of the Constitution later :-)

I don't know what kind of "conservative" you and others on
this thread are contorting into,

Amen to that. It is a mystery to me also.

Example: Hillary suggested that there should be a Palastinian
state and this board lit up with flames. She had no authority
to make that statement into policy, but our President, made
a Palastinian state a matter of formal policy. Something no other
president had ever done. Where is the outrage for that?

You know in the long run I think its better that CFR is going to the US Supreme Court now. Because once its dead there, congress wouldn't be there to vote it back in after a veto.

Hey, if you're not willing to lay down all your beliefs and values to join the Royal Cult of Bush, you're outta here! Now on your knees and start praising his name!

reason/excuse du jour! you made my point!

this latest with the fbi is more proof of another wasteful, incompetent government agency. all the mistakes (wrongdoings) of the past will be swept under the rug. business as usual...the powerful protecting the powerful.
