Are you suggesting that maybe perhaps Rush and Hannity have lost their touch with real life?

Correct. The thought police from certain quarters want every single sentence in this report written exactly the way they would do it.

In my opinion, someone has to do a definitive study. If there is global warming, then we will have to accept it and deal with it from a conservative perspective.

At some point people are going to have to pay attention to actual scientists, as opposed to fanatsies, wish lists, and general opinion.

We need a policy based on facts. I am afraid I see people who claim that there is no global warming and their proof is no more scientific (and in some cases LESS scientific) than those who belive that global warming is a reality.

Yes, that's it. They just called him on the top-secret Bildeberger phone in the West Wing. You might have seen this phone in some top secret photos at Matt's site. It is made to look like a skull with crossbones for a receiver. It also has a nuke button right next to the "Instantly change all currency to Euros" button. Pushing the Euro button initiates a top secret call to Alan Greenspan who then wires the call to the Beast in Belgium. The call is then digitally broken up, encoded, reassembled and forwarded to the Roman E.U. President guy, Tony Blair, Prince Charles and Lord Matraya.

They are welcome to Rush, Sean, and the other useful idiots the media loves to tweak.

My sentiments exactly!

And no, I'm not discounting the threat of global governance, but enough with the Maxwell Smart theories.

I don't know what kind of "conservative" you and others on this thread are contorting into, but Rush's conservative beliefs are just as consistent as they were 13 years ago. The problem is you folks just don’t get it.

* has done an outstanding/remarkable job, leading America in
the war on terrorism.
And in less then 17 months too.

Gore would not have done one of these things.

Not real sure GW did many of them either.

"He's overplayed this." Yep. This is one of those bureaucratic reports that would never see the light of day but for someone digging it up. This is not a "White House" document, but is the third submission to the UN required by the Rio Treaty, submitted by the Dept. of State but undoubtedly drafted by EPA. It's just a bureaurcrat's report; it's not a policy document.

According to the Times story, the report has been sitting on somebody's desk in the White House for months. That somebody decided not to ship it back to EPA for rewrite, despite pressure to do so from the American Petroleum Institute. Gee, I wonder why? Can you envision a headline like "Administration orders EPA scientists to alter UN report on global warming under pressure from major oil company campaign contributors"? That would be a nice scandel, timed perfectly now that the Enron scandel is running out of gas.

The Times was tipped to the report and since they didn't have a scandel went with a story instead claiming a "stark shift" in US policy, despite the fact that the report reiterates President Bush's existing policy. The article is a transparent attempt by the Times to force a change in policy that has not occurred.

So Drudge and Rush overreact to a non-story. Or did they. We're entering the summer news doldrums. Bush-bash controversies generate lots of listeners and callers. Hmmm.

You know you act as if its all Bush's fault... A lot of Republican congressmen and senators voted for CFR too... Are you going to vote them out of office?

CFR was a major issue. I worked weekends during the last election - voter education. I realised how important literature is to show people how candidates voted and spoke on issues. This bill will be damaging to grass roots and new candidates as well as to our freedom. Now we'll have to worry if our speech is illegal. "Can I say this or that?" This is awful and serves the political incumbants, not "We the People."

I've been a Republican all my adult life - from a family of Republicans. The Republican party has changed dramatically. I believe that a liberal Republican can do far more damage than a liberal democrat. And this is what I see happening. Liberalism is making huge strides and Conservatives are defending this out of loyalty to the party.

My Congressman and Senators voted against CFR. Support for CFR was not "overwhelming."

Do you have a line in the sand?

No doubt, Rush's limited intellect will prevent him from appreciating KR's brilliant triangulation coup--naming Larry Tribe to the high bench.

Well, I don't doubt Rush's conservative beliefs, but if he basing his argument against this administration from articles written by Liberal Rags like the Washington Post and the NYT's he's an easily fooled conservative that is falling for the oldest divide and conquer trick in the book.

What has to be remembered is Rush Limbaugh is paid to complain, without a story to bitch about, he has no job. Rush Limbaugh could clone himself and put his clone in the White House and still bitch about his cloned self like he was suffering from PMS.

Rush doesn't have to take back anything with a story written by the NYT's or the Post because he always has the "Liberal Rag" excuse. A win win situation. As far as Matt Drudge, He is an opportunistic whore, no different than Larry Klayman

From now on, no debate will be allowed on the subject of whether global warming is man caused, but only on the way to combat it. Anyone claiming that man-caused global warming is not occuring, will now be marginalized by the press AND the mainstream Republicans. Thanks GW, you are the winner of the popularity contest, conservatives ideals, are once again the losers.

You are soooo right! This is just one more example of incrementalism. Though consensus among scientists does NOT exist with regard to global warming, particularly human-caused global warming, the politicians (not the scientists) have decided the matter. Our new dictator has become the authority on the matter and has left no room for debate on the existence of global warming. We are only left to debate what policies will be implemented to combat it.

Bush may say that we should take no action, however, the proverbial foot is already in the door. Incrementalism at its best. It never ends!

There is another way to look at this 3rd annual report, The way I look at things, this report is pulling the foot out of the door compared to the 1st annual report, Kyoto was the standard in 2000, Kyoto has been debunked and the way I read this report is we are drifting away from the environmentalist grip on our policies, rather than tighten their grip. There is an article posted here today that says many of the environmentalist in the Dept of Interior are quiting over this report, I will post the link if you have not seen it

Rush has become the enemy...IMHO. Evidently his masters felt that the audience needed to be broadened, hence the catering to the left

man, is that convoluted thinking. kill the messenger, huh? i believe it's bush catering to the left, not rush.

You are correct. So called "uber-conservatives" who take the NYT take of a third rate beureaucratic report as the word of G-d and flagellate themselves over the "consequences" will never end.

You all are doing the devil's(demos) work.

I didn't listen to the show. But whenever W looks like he's about to disappoint me, the actual deed turns out to be a pleasant surprise and an advancement to the cause of common sense.
