Just the headline
Maybe McCain wasn't so nuts after all...
Good grief, there must be something in the water. Has this
forum forgotten the Clinton defenders, and how we ridiculed
them, for their mindless support, of their president?
Maybe you should have listened to Rush, I did, and he did not
trash the President. What he did do, is point out the many
flips on major issues.
The retoric on this forum always rationalizes these flips as
some super secret plan that GW just can't tip his hand on.
Or the other major defense, "These decisions are being made
by Clinton holdovers."
We have every right to ask, just who is in charge, and who
is making these decisions?
Just don't understand people that if a President doesn't do 100% of what they want, they won't vote for him or the Party again. Talk about narrow minded thinking! I didn't agree with the Education Bill but does that mean I don't support this President -- not on your life! Politics is about making compromises time and time again except on your core beliefs. There are certain things he will not compromise on much as people on here want everyone to believe he will. Guess they would rather have a pomposs jerk for President that won't compromise on anything -- their way or no way! Sometimes when a person is in the Oval Office things look different. President Bush is not just President of Conservatives, he is the President of the United States with more on his plate than anyone has had in a long time and these people on here cannot quit complaining about every little thing he does they don't like!
Without the Senate, there will be no conservative judges but why should they let a little detail like that stand in the way. Laws are changed in the Judiciary as they are declared unconstitutional -- we need conservative judges who interpret the law not make the law!
All this banter about something in the NY Times is a joke. Since when did Freepers believe the NY Times or Rush believe the NY Times -- seems only when it puts President Bush and his Administration in a bad light! There is an Agenda at work here as there is across America -- there are memos from the DemocRATS discussing how to best cut off conservatives from this Administration but guess what so far it isn't working but some Freepers are buying into the rhetoric of the NY Times, WP, and LA Times which is just amazing. Guess that happens when you have a different agenda! Instead of being above board, we get the rhetoric that President Bush has lost their vote and so have the Republicans -- how can you lose something you don't have to begin with -- how many people stayed home or voted 3rd party that say that. Now some of us that won't listen to Rush anymore are called Losers.
If this is what conservatives are all about, I do not believe that I want that Label -- just being a Republican suits me just fine for a label! I am very proud to call myself a Republican and work for Republican candidates to win this Fall to Take Back the Senate and Keep the House. Will be right there in 2004 supporting President Bush's candidacy for a second term also. Some folks on here now have me convinced in total if there is an (R) behind the name, they have my vote!
For those of you old enough to remember, Reagan came into office after an unpopular President, a horrible economy, a foreign policy disaster(Iran hostages), and double-digit inflation. Reagan immediately got tremendous political capital when the hostages were released the day he took office. The times were much different.
(Music please) All that I'm saying, is give Bush a chance...
There is little difference in the domestic agenda between what we would have seen with Gore, and what we are getting with Bush. In fact, I propose that on the domestic sense, we would have been better off with Gore, because House republicans would still have the will to fight. Now they are too busy pulling the Shank out of their back that Bush keeps stabbing them with. The fact is, if you are honest with yourselves, you will come to the conclusion that conservative ideals have been shredded. Carl wants to stay at 1600 PA. Ave. for 6 more years, and this is his way to do it. However, I will not support Bush blindly, and refuse to vote for him again. Two years ago, I would never have thought Bush would either compromise, or completely give in to the things he has (eg. campaign finance). Now, I find myself wondering, how long he will remain pro-life.. Bush is no more principled than Gore is. Its all to a political end, and power, and if you are honest with yourselves, you will draw the same conclusion.
The reason people are pissed is not because of this report alone. Its because they voted for what they thought was a conservative. And what they got was Massive Education Spending, the weakest of tax cuts, Stem Cell Research, luke warm support of Isreal, Wholesale Campaign Finance reform, banning oil exploration in florida to get his brother re-elected, and now giving political fuel to the Europeans to shove kyoto down our throat. Now honestly, how is this different from what Gore wanted to do ON THE DOMESTIC AGENDA?
Say what you will, but you don't win re-election by abandoning the principles people elected you on. Of all people Bush should know that.. ah-la Bush 41 losing in 92.

LOL...actually, it's Limbaugh's criticism of Dubyuh's Administrative policy causing this particular round of FReeper divisiveness.
"I'm going over to the democraticunderground where they ALL love him. (sarcasm tag will remain on)"
All DUers are beyond redemption, IMHO, and will never support Dubyuh no matter how many compromises he makes with the Left...that is a big part of my frustration with his domestic agenda lately. That is, I sincerely believe it is an exercise in futility!!
FReegards...MUD
Karl Rove didn't have anything at all to do with this...
Gore would have implemented Kyoto from day 1, would have stated that gun ownership is not an individual right, increased taxes, would say i don't care how many embryos you use for stem cells, etc. etc.
Blah, Blah. Blah, and all this "controversy" over a New York Times biased report that has been debunked.
It looks like Rush has joined your self-flagellation parade.
People don't vote because they are lazy, and take voting for granted. They don't want to take time out of their busy schedules to perform their civic duty, and part of it is because there is no Civics taught in school anymore. "Community service" is the politically correct way of teaching to help the "village", but does not teach being a good political citizen.
