My fellow Freepers ;
My cousin Darryl, who is 17, and his soon to be wife, Kim, are about to lose their newborn girl, Kaitland Marie. She probably won't see the Sunday sunrise.
Kaitland Marie was born on May 17, and weighed 8pounds 6 ozs. Nothing appeared wrong, but she wouldn't breast feed.
On Tuesday, the 28st, she got sick, and her Dr. sent her to Scottish Rite in Atlanta. She was put in ICU.
Wednesday, her liver shut down. Thursday, her kidneys. The Dr.s then told Darryl and Kim that the baby had no hope of recovery.
Since Thursday, the Hospital staff has revived her 3 times after her heart stopped, against the wishes of everyone involved.
Tonight, the Dr.s have finally said no more cpr, so her time is near to be with the Lord.
Both families involved are involved with churches, and have recieved many prayers and much food.
But, I feel that someone can never use enough prayer. So, I ask for the prayers of all you freepers for the soul of this little girl, and for the families involved.
Although the parents are both young, and they were not married at the time of birth, they waited so that Kim's Father's insurance would pay for the baby. Both kid's are really good kids who really need our prayers.
Lastly, how does everyone feel that the hospital didn't care for the parents wishes not to revive?
Nor did I take your respectfull comments as nothing but words of encouragement... ; ^ )>
Thanks for your Prayers...
I just called my Aunt and Cousin, but neither answered the phone. So, I have no news.
To all those who have replied, your words of Prayer are a source of strength. The family will get a printed copy and will be happy to see so many Brothers and Sisters Praying for them and Kaitland.
Thank all of you very much...
I shall return shortly... Kermit
God bless you and your family.
Thank you and God Bless, .45Man. You, Dansangel, Ms. Vc and I need to have dinner one evening, since we're neighbors and all..."

Whenever the time is appropriate for you all. Just let us know.
In California I, as a parent of a minor, can not even call the doctor and discuss anything with regard to my child's reproductive issues without my child's consent! What could possibly be more ludicrous than that?? And now in this situation there is a suggestion that the parent's young age might make them unable to make that decision? So who on earth ultimately has the decision-making ability here....the doctors? Now that, imo, is just wrong! But we are talking about a whole new thread here. :)
I will pray for the family and the child that they find comfort and strength during this horribly tragic time in their lives.
May God comfort these parents as only He can. May they turn to Him in this hour of need and rely only on Him. He is willing. He is able.
