President Bush and First Lady Laura headed to the United States Military Academy at West Point to give the Commencement Speech. In this bicentennial graduation, Bush told West Point graduates that they must protect and preserve American freedom at a time when terrorism puts it in jeopardy. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I'm sure the Dems will find some typically nasty comments to make about the picture.

True .. but the thing is .. President would just laugh it off .. he has such a great sense of humor he is able to even laugh at himself at times ..

The dems can't touch him cause he is the Boomerang President

To: admiralsn Looks to me like he's stepping over a pile of dog poo.

I was wondering what he is doing in this picture, but then I decided he was playing ,CADET, you know how little boys are! :)

Not sure. Maybe in a Mexican grocery or specialty store. The cans I purchased were the store brand. Not bad either! Those chiles really made it spicy!

I remember Bush said something like he wanted to go to West Point in high school and his Dad wanted to go to Navy Academy as kid. I wouldn't be suprised if he starts to play cadet in there.

I've been having fun out there, on those hideous threads...I used to post "Hillary! For President!" Or, lately, "Well, THAT does it, I'll never vote for him again!"....

I noticed that Grampa Dave has done some stuff like that, too. I think. Heck, don't quote me....but anyway, Rintense, this IS a great place to go to relax. Even IF Mama has to appear, it's a great place, and I deeply thank you.

I get so sick of the Reagan worship and I'm a Reagan gal. They make it sound like he walked on water.

President Reagan is a good man and was a great President

President Bush is a good man and history will tell he was also a great President

One thing I have learned in life is .. most people don't know how good a person is until they are gone

In time I think these folks will say the same thing about President Bush

When Jimmy Carter stood by and did nothing while religous finatics overthrew the Shah of Iran who was a great friend of ours and was an incredible force in the region. Our word was not worth mauch after that. We had complete access to Iran's ports and they were a trusted friend.

Jimmy Carter destroyed any trust we would ever have again in the middle east, and after he let the Religous finatics storm our Embassy and take our people hostage with absolutely no response from Carter, we were a laughing stock and the finatics understood that through terrorism they would have the media and the worlds attention. If Carter would have responded as he should have, we would of never suffered through 9/11, and by his in-action he gave birth to terroism.

You and I are on the same wave length so often it's almost scary .... we haven't met somewhere before, have we? .... *grins*

The big difference I see is the change in the media in the last 20+ years. Oh, I know they belittled Reagan and tried to plaster him with all sorts of ugly things ...... and they are now having to eat a lot of their words .... hehe! And I remember railing about the network news bias way back in the 60s when I really didn't even follow politics except in a very general sense.

But what they did to Reagan was child's play compared to what is happening now. I am just staggered by the accusations I am seeing on FR, much of it spurred by media articles, that come very close to outright saying that President Bush could have but didn't stop the attacks of 911, for political purposes or financial gain. Some actually verge on accusing him of being in on a conspiracy to plan these attacks! This is just so vile and vicious! And so obviously false to those of us who have "followed" the President through his days in office and have seen the compassion, the true patriotism, the faith, the godliness of this man.

So many of the sheeple believe everything they hear on tv or read in the paper. And some of this you-know-what gets repeated over and over. That's one of the strategies of the liberals ..... repeat something until people begin to think it must be true. That really scares me!

The one thing that keeps me sane some days is the certainty that the Lord IS in control .... we may not always see that but we know that it is true. Praise God!

Cinco De Mayo Soup 2 T olive oil 3 garlic cloves (minced) 1/2 onion (chopped) 3 cans chicken broth 3 T green chiles (diced) 2 cans corn niblets (11 oz each, drained) 2 cans diced tomatoes (15 oz each, drained) 1 can black beans (15 oz each, drained and rinsed) 1 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 C cilantro (chopped) In a large pot, saute garlic and onions in oil on low for 10 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes. Serve with fresh cilantro, tortilla chips, and sour cream. It has a bit of a kick to it, so keep some water handy. I also sprinkled a little bit of jack and colby cheese on top.
