FREE REPUBLIC NETWORK TO HOST 1st EVER ACTIVISM CONFERENCE

(Washington, DC) The Free Republic Network will host, in conjunction with the Leadership Institute, its first-ever activism conference at the Treasure Island Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada from August 16-18, 2002.

The conference will provide instruction in effective conservative activism and hold a banquet dinner in honor of the 2001 recipients of the Network's Eagle Awards.

Featured speakers at the conference include Chuck Muth, newly appointed Executive Director of the American Conservative Union and former Chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus, and Rich Galen, the well-known Internet columnist who publishes www.mullings.com.

The training seminars are being designed by the Leadership Institute to meet the specific needs of today?s conservative activist and among other topics will include, Developing a Message that Works, Fundraising 101 for Activists and the Real Nature of Politics & Politicians.

The Eagle Awards recognize individuals and organizations that have notably advanced and demonstrated conservative principles during the previous year.

The wife and I are planning it as a little "get away". Will depend if she can get off work ... we're both taking quite a bit of time for our #3 daughters wedding in early July already ... but I believe we'll pull it off and both be there.

The two boys left at home, Jeff Jr. (17) and Jared (13 who had attended many events with his Dad) are both working and saving money and don't want to end their jobs before the summer's over. Grandparents will stand in while e're don there.

Great News Jeff. I remember meeting your son Jared in Boise. He was an impressive young man. Having coached boys his age and older in football I found he compared very favorably in maturity and discretion - you've done well IMHO.

I am looking forward to meeting the Missus. It will be neat to see her as we acknowledge her husband's efforts that have kept him far from home and in the front lines. I know she is far more proud of you than we are - which is saying a lot.
