Let's rephrase that headline, shall we? "Weary, American's mock the press".
John, Dahlink....how ARE ya????
To: JohnHuang2
Whoa! Bush drops the "new tone" for a sec and takes a jab back at the press and their "why do you beat your wife" questions!
Of course, letting the press know they are getting under your skin and tailoring your speeches to counter them only makes them feel more important.

Remember how when Clinton spoke his mind to the press he was called "feisty". My, their bias is certainly showing, isn't it?

"I wonder why it is you think there are such strong sentiments in Europe against you and against this administration?" the reporter said. "Why, particularly, there's a view that you and your administration are trying to impose America's will on the rest of the world, particularly when it comes to the Middle East and where the war on terrorism goes next?" Ask the hard questions but not while we're in someone else's home. These particular protestors seemed to be sympathizers of Arafat and terrorists. Amazing for our press to give them mention.

I watched this press conference and that french guy kept looking at the ceiling when he was answering a question. He was biting his lip and squinting really hard and I kept thinking what's the freeking problem bud the questions are easy--you're supposed to be so smart and everything -IDIOT !
The fact was the press asked Bush 99% of the questions and didn't care what the Frenchy guy said !

David Gregory really hates not only Bush but his own country. He should parlez-vous forever in France since he loves it so much.

Mr. Bush...deadpanned: "Now I'm literate in two languages." It's too bad one of them isn't English.

"Very good," Mr. Bush said sardonically. "The guy memorizes four words, and he plays like he's intercontinental." "I can go on," Mr. Gregory offered. Notice the snotty vanity of this "reporter." He wanted to impress everyone with this French.
"It's All About ME!
Many reporters feel this way. They are not "just covering the news." Oh no, that is beneath their intellect, their ability. They want to be PLAYERS on the international scene. They just don't want to go through Democratic election process....that too is beneath them.
Way to go W.
Que Bueno!

"I don't view hostility here," Mr. Bush said in the ornate Palais de l'Elysee. "I view the fact that we've got a lot of friends here."Could be. Of course only the protest-freaks will get air time. Could it be that there is a grass-roots movement over there too, that are getting really fed up with business as usual? I wonder. Conservatives are slow to anger. Suffer the children.

Gregory got his pee-pee publicly whacked by the President of the United States for a very good reason: he (Gregory) was being rude, openly confrontative, and obnoxious. For good measure, Bush was right on another point: the man was showing off.
Gregory should tuck his tail between his legs and slither home on the next available flight. Instead, he'll probably wear his dressing-down as a badge of honor.

What a guy! Go, Dubya!
For years, I have tried to be reasonable, rational, and thoughtful of rude and insulting people. I have come to the conclusion that you can't "talk" decency into them--and ignoring them just makes them worse. The only effective way I have been able to deal with a louse is to laugh at him. Liberals and the Press, as a rule, have overinflated egos filled with hot air. Humor and ridicule seem to be the only way to burst their bubbles of self importance.

Turning to Mr. Chirac, [Gregory] added in French: "And, Mr. President, would you maybe comment on that?"
"Very good," Mr. Bush said sardonically. "The guy memorizes four words, and he plays like he's intercontinental."
"I can go on," Mr. Gregory offered.
"I'm impressed que bueno," said Mr. Bush, using the Spanish phrase for "how wonderful." He deadpanned: "Now I'm literate in two languages."OMG! Did this really happen? Way to go Mr. President, LOL!

If jet lag causes Dubya to tell it like it is, I say let's keep him airborne.
Plain Talk is what this nation needs, now more than ever. It is what Americans respond to and it annoys the libs.

But fellow freepers, the unanswered question is: Who is the biggest @$$hole-- Adam Clymer or David Gregory? Have Clymer, Gregory and @$$hole become interchangable?
To: JohnHuang2
The reporters chuckled at the deft diplomatic recovery.Instead of being deft, shouldn't we tell the press to stop their insane over-imaginative fantasies about the US and this administration? I mean, isn't yelling fire when there's no fire illegal? Damn it, this is a Goebblelian and the leaders are shaking in their boots in front of the press.
