Throughout our nation's history good men have fought and died to preserve this nation and it's ideals. From our founding fathers to today's armed forces, many sacrifices have been made on our behalf. On Memorial Day weekend it is only fitting that we should take some time to say thank you to those who are preserving our freedoms today, and to remember those who have paid the ultimate price in the past. At this time I would like to ask you to join us, as we institute our first Email-a-Thon. Make a pledge here so we'll know how many emails are going out, then click on the provided links and send the emails.

It's another Memorial Day weekend and most of us are looking forward to good times with family and friends. But some of our fellow countrymen don't have it so good this year. Once again we have armed forces under fire in foreign lands. On behalf of VetsCor, A_Navy_Vet has been asking that we take time this weekend to participate in efforts to thank those who have lost loved ones, and express our appreciation for those who are currently serving in our armed forces. On the USO Canteen threads, Snow Bunny has been providing email links for some time that facilitate the emailing of our service members. This weekend, let's throw our full support behind

their efforts. This is the first annual Memorial Day Weekend Email-a-Thon. It won't take that long to click on the links I've provided, and send out some emails. And when all is said and done, thousands of our countrymen will know that folks at home care about them and appreciate what they are doing. The goal is to see if we can send over 10,000 emails to our fellow countrymen. I think that's an easy goal if we all chip in. How many will you agree to send? Can you send 100 or more? Why not take on this task and help us blow by that 10,000 number.

It'd be great if we could make sure every member of our armed forces overseas, recieved a note of thanks. A_Navy_vet and Snow Bunny deserve our support, and this weekend is a great time to chip in and help. If your chapter would like to sponsor this activity, please let me know and I'll add your name to the list. Thanks to Snow Bunny, A Navy Vet and 68-69TonkinGulfYatchClub for their tireless support of our military. Thanks in advance, to those of you who decide to pitch in.

Mine are sent. What a wonderful picture! It's my new wallpaper. Barney looking out of the window in the Oval Office had to get booted for a while.
I started going brain dead trying to think of 20 different ways to say Thank you :). I figured I could send the same one, once, to each of the different branches and then start over.
I think I learned it's a lot harder to write greeting cards than I ever thought! Thanks for doing this thread. It's a wonderful Memorial Day idea.

Thank you Terilyn. Since these emails are being sent at random to our military members, it's doubtful that too many would go to one spot. However, I'm sure they'd understand if everyone in one troup was given an exact duplicate greeting. The fact is, someone cared enough to send them.
I've been sending series of 300 to each branch of service. I'm up to 1100 emails now. Take care.
To: DoughtyOne
Well, if that's the case, then you can put me down for another 500. Heck, even doing it my way only took about a half hour!
