I'm putting $5 on the Pass Line with your guess number 1. The high volume labs often are placed in suburban residential areas - elderly neighbors are very good - where people "don't get out a lot" and there aren't a lot of ambient police calls. Ambulance, yes ... So, we're goin' METH LAB!

Yep, I'll bet those medical oxygen tanks could make a pretty nasty kaboom.

A couple of years ago, exactly that happened when my next door neighbor's house went up in smoke in the middle of the night. I woke up to see my bedroom illuminated orange and hearing a roaring sound. I got up and went to the window- just as one of those tanks she had went up with a deep 'thump'. It made me reflexively duck under the windowsill. The neighbor's house was about 25 feet away from my bedroom.

We had a similar explosion in Indy a few years ago. NG leak completely blew a house apart down to the footings. The debris field was incredible but virtually no fire damage.
