I believe anytime a fire or explosion etc occurs its considered a crime scene until proven that no crime had occurredPlus an explosion caused by explosives of any sort is ussually FBI jurisdiction.

Maybe as a warning? Who knows what crazies will do. Hope it's only an accidental explosion and that no lives were lost.

Crime Scene Investigator - at least that is what it means on TV dramas.

The way I see it, 2 possibilities: 1. Meth Lab 2. Ornery valley separatists attracting attention to their cause. I'm putting $5 on the Pass Line with your guess number 1. The high volume labs often are placed in suburban residential areas - elderly neighbors are very good - where people "don't get out a lot" and there aren't a lot of ambient police calls. Ambulance, yes ... So, we're goin' METH LAB!

Yeah, it's not like we've been threatened with apartments being blown up or anything, or that this is Memorial Day weekend.

Yep, I'll bet those medical oxygen tanks could make a pretty nasty kaboom. A couple of years ago, exactly that happened when my next door neighbor's house went up in smoke in the middle of the night. I woke up to see my bedroom illuminated orange and hearing a roaring sound. I got up and went to the window- just as one of those tanks she had went up with a deep 'thump'. It made me reflexively duck under the windowsill. The neighbor's house was about 25 feet away from my bedroom.

Sure, I figured it would be anyways due to some complaints by some fellow FReeper tight hineys :P
You asking just goes beyond showing your class as a mod. I think we should have mod awards, where we can vote for best mods. You would get my vote :)

What is CSI?
CBS , Thursdays at 9ET, 8CT; the most-watched drama on television today, CSI follows the cases of the Las Vegas PD Crime Lab. A spinoff, CSI-Miami, premieres this fall (Mondays at 10P/9P).

Example of what a gas explosion does to a building:

If you feel the need to take RummyChick's picture on 349 down, I will support you all the way.

We had a similar explosion in Indy a few years ago. NG leak completely blew a house apart down to the footings. The debris field was incredible but virtually no fire damage.

Thanks for the explanation. Yeah, it always sounded more like a hit than an accident, especially in Las Vegas, and since his apt was the only one destroyed.

It could be LP gas, natural gas hell it could be fireworks for all we know. But what's scary & i'm not a tin foil nut is that it could very well be Al-queda, either way we should know shortly.
