You better believe it re: The Indy 500. From my point of view proceed with caution in Indy because of the mass of spectators and you have American and International Teams.
I hate that we have to speculate on our personal destruction but thank Bill Clinton, the democratic party and Janet Reno for the current state of alert in the USA.

At the same time LA police warned they do not want apartment landlords to engage in housing discrimination. No, of course not; if the potential tenant has Al Qaeda listed as present employer, you still have to rent to him. [/sarcasm]

Exactly... your description in consistent with my knowlege.

No, that would be evidence that it was terrorism. Have you made up your mind already that it wasn't natural gas?

Did I see the MSNBC list Encino as being below San Diego DoughtyOne was right ... Mexico is moving north.

I live in Beverly Hills. Has anything else exploded or is it just the complex in Encino? It seems an odd place for terrorists. Encino is white suburbia--those Arab bastards would stick out--then again LA is crawling with Middle Easterners. F them--if this is terrorism than I call for immediate deportation.

Regarding Post 349:
Just an FYI... Not all Boilermakers are that strange, or that strange-looking... ;-)
To: Joe Hadenuf
IIRC the terrorists used fertilizer-fuel bombs in the Russian apartments.
What smell would they leave?

Sounds like a great storyline for CSI.

an apparent explosion Lets not go out on any limbs here. The "alledged" explosion might sue.

What's all this Chicken Little CRAP. Take off your Tin Foils and Stand Down...Damn!!

A (N.G.) explosion would have blown the windows and doors and caused a real nice fire but would not have blown the whole building apart.Wrong, wrong, wrong. About ten years ago a homeowner in Toronto deliberately blew his house up by shutting off the pilot lights, opening a valve in his basement, and leaving a lit candle in another room in the house. The all-brick house was completely destroyed, along with two neighbouring houses, and the debris field covered an area the size of four city blocks.
I'm not saying this incident was NG or propane, but they can't be ruled out. I'll wait for the pros to sift through the rubble and report their findings before I draw any conclusions.

no not routine at all. especlly sense they called in the FBI on this one!Sorry but I think you are mistaken. I believe anytime a fire or explosion etc occurs its considered a crime scene until proven that no crime had occurred
To: Dallas
The plot thickens.
To: heleny
According to fire officials, the blast could have been a natural gas explosion, based on the buckled appearance of the building and the debris scattered nearby. What I would like to know is whether the apartment even had natural gas. Most apartments in northern Texas are all electric these days, but the San Fernando Valley could be different. Seems like asking residents a few questions or calling the Public Works Department could clear this issue up real quickly.

Wasn't there a threat lately regarding the blowing up of apartment buildings? Hope this isn't one of them.
