Folks round here refer to the Globe and Mail as the Mop and Pail.

"the left cried foul over Watto and accused Lucas of making him a 'money hungry jew'."
Sounds to me like the left profiles people and they are a bunch of racists.

Well, you have to keep in mind a typical leftist love story. Boy and girl meet and exchange a few unintelligible grunts. They have sex. She has an abortion and finds another man and does it again. He turns gay and gets aids and dies.
To: Fitzcarraldo
Well done! And I can guarantee that the left cannot possibly answer that!

To me it was well worth the price of admission to watch Yoda do his lightsabre fighting scene.

Who'd have thought that Frank Oz was so agile.

So true. As you read through the posts it is evident that there is a LOT that the leftists didn't consider before they made their stupid attacks on the movie. But, no one ever gave the left points for deep thinking.

Watto had a Jewish nose and a vaguely Greek accent! Was Lucas implying that Jews and Greeks dominated the slave trade?

By episode VI, he's at least as old as Obi Wan Kenobi, and quite agile. I blundered here...Bobba Fett would be a couple years older than Luke Skywalker, not Obi Wan, depending on when Amidala concieves.

FR has been a wonderful teacher in that regard. :)

It is not wise to pretend there is no need for security, either, merely because some use the term falsely.
When a nation is attacked within its own borders there is a need for security that is not bogus.
It is also not wise to pretend that a great, powerful nation can withdraw from the world without serious and deadly consequences.

Ha ha! This article is too rich. I've always said there's a Star Wars quote for every situation in life, and my favorite one lately has been the one Sam Jackson said in EP II: "This Party Is Over" One could say that about the left.

Ever hear of the British East India Company? And how it operated?

Dangerous it is to surrender liberty, hmmmm? Dangerous it is to abandon self defense to a central authority. There will the dark side take root.

We are not speaking of self defense but national defense.

And do you know what! Had Lucas decided to include explicit sexual acts in the film this same critic would have written a scathing report on how the movie is awash with moral decay!
It seems all these critics do is criticise movies, when they themselves could not do even half as well if given a chance. Critics is one facet of work that can truly, and should honestly, be eliminated.
Just the other day i was reading his dimwit criticise SpiderMan for being 'too cartoony.' Puh-lease!!!!! SpiderMan is cartoonish because it IS based on a CARTOON! What did he expect them to do, dress spidey is a tux and have him travel by driving a sports car? And maybe adopt a Brit accent and prefer shaken martinis?
