Ajo, Arizona - The Immigration and Naturalization confirms A U.S. Border patrol Agent was fired upon Friday five miles inside the U.S. Border, increasing the calls for citizens to take direct action to halt what a U.S. Border Patrol agent called "an act of war." This is one of 21 border incursions that have taken place over the last year.

According to a U.S. Border Patrol Agent, the Tohono O'odham Police Department encountered a Mexican military incursion on Friday, May 17, 2002 at approximately 8:30 PM along the Santa Cruz trail inside the Papago Farms border patrol area, just south of Forest Road 21.

The unnamed agent spotted three Mexican soldiers in a Mexican Humvee on U.S. soil and was attempting to leave the area when the rear window of his vehicle was apparently shattered by gunfire. "The agent was leaving the area in an effort to avoid a confrontation" with the Mexicans, according to Lori Haley, and INS spokeswoman.

"I cannot in good conscience stand by and watch another incursion along our border take place," said U.S. Rep Tancredo (R-CO). "Unless we open our eyes and recognize that what's happening along the U.S. Mexico border is real, one of our guys is going to get killed.

The U.S. Border Patrol Agent, who wishes to remain anonymous, informed Rep. Tancredo during a phone conversation that approximately five miles north of the U.S./Mexico border, one the "GS-11" agents out of the Ajo border patrol station noticed a military helicopter flying overhead, heading south towards Mexico. Shortly thereafter, he came upon a humvee, which not only began to approach him, but to fire upon his vehicle. According to the agent's testimony, the vehicles rear window and back driver's side windows were destroyed. Fortunately, the agent was able to flee the incursion unharmed and concluded the conversation by stating, "As far as I am concerned, that [incursion] should be an act of war."

With the increase in hostilities now confirmed by the U.S. government, Sierra Times has learned that private citizens are making preparations to deal directly with such incursions in the future. Stay tuned.

I second that.

The Mainstream Media is a blight on the face of America. They should go the way of the Phonogram, Eight Track Tape, Carriage, etc.

We should all write to Fox News and thank them for telling the truth. After all, reporting the facts in this day and time is a rarity, especially in the mainstream media.

I'm waiting to hear what the Prez says about this outrage. His silence is deafening... Let's all write him and tell him so.

Well, marginally better. It's good that you see that while objectionable, such a statement - taken alone - is not racist.

The point bears elaboration. The principle tool that ethnic nationalists - like the irredentist Mexicans - have used to intimidate the United States is the manipulation of the concept of race. Consider this statement:

The Nixon Administration invented racial quotas in 1969 for the not unreasonable purpose of punishing Philadelphia's all-white, all-Democrat crafts unions for blatantly discriminating against blacks. But the Nixonites soon established two far-reaching precedents. They allowed affirmative action to be extended to immigrants and in 1973 created the non-racial category of "Hispanics." These seemingly minor bureaucratic maneuvers transformed affirmative action from a system limited to a few tens of millions of American beneficiaries to one with billions of potential beneficiaries worldwide.
Because the Nixon administration needed a short term issue to neutralize criticisms of "racism" itself, it fabricated a new race - Hispanics. It was not supposed to be a new race, but that's what people take it as, because the other affirmative action compartment of major interest is of course racial in applying to African-Americans.

In so doing, they conferred a victim group status on 600 million people who live in Central and South America, and the Iberian Peninsula ("Spain"). A group of people who have never been in the United States, and should they arrive here, will have done so out of their own choice, not under any compulsory act by us, and with no history of "discrimination" by us to bear.

This has far reaching consequences: Congressional districts are redistricted to ensure the election of "Hispanic" candidates (know of any court orders mandating, say, a Czech district in Northern Ohio? No? Why not? It makes as much sense, according to these rules); Hiring in almost all jobs is done to accomodate de facto quotas; and any objection to illegal immigration from "Hispanic" countries is always decried as "racist". In fact, the outrage over this shooting incident on the border will almost certainly be labeled "racist" at some point by the Mexican government, which has quickly learned how to silence any opposition in the U.S. by screaming "racist" at the earliest opportunity.

This is why your use of the nullification word "racism" in an inappropriate application merits criticism, and it is not a trivial thing. In fact, as the "Hispanic" population grows, and asserts more aggressively the self-serving notion that foreign born Hispanics or even first generation Hispanics should somehow be privileged in law over 10th generation whites, it may become the defining controversy of American politics.

So carelessly using the race criticism with regards to Hispanics is not a little thing, or even a technicality. It may become the fissure that cracks American society.

It's interesting that you show A-10's. One of the biggest A-10 squadrons is based in Tucson at Davis-Monthan AFB, and they are always going out to the Gila Bend (now Goldwater) Gunnery Range, which is just west of where this "incident" took place. It would be no big deal for a coupla Warthog's to be sitting alert or even on patrol along the border 24/7, since they are a) close and b) in need of target practice.

If you go to Tancredo's website and read the incident description, you'll see that the BP agent first saw a helicopter southbound into Mexico before he encountered the HumVee. Whether that helicopter was doing recon or actually returning from carrying cargo into the U.S., I don't know, but I suspect both Customs and USAF saw it on their radars. There's not much that a Citation or even a Mohawk could do even if they could get there in time, but hey, an A-10 could get there about as fast as the Citation and then proceed to chop both the helicopter and the HumVee into scrap metal.

The aftermath of which would be suitable for framing, and eventual posting to FR, for gratuitous chortling.

He won't publicly say a thing.

There might be a press release from the White House, but I doubt it.

My first thought was just that an A-10 would make a nice plane for tearing up vehicles like the one in question, but I did notice

that these gentlemen happened to be in the general area when I was hunting for some good pix.....    ;-)

I've seen one of those 30mm cannons firing at dusk from spitting distance and the 6ft column of green flame that comes out the business end is enough to put the fear of ___ in anybody...

TF, if my vote means anything, Dubya will be sent back to Texas on early retirement. Although I'm pleasantly suprised by his war time leadership, America should never have been placed in this dangerous situation.

Dropping bombs on caves in Afghanistan, while leaving our back door open to terrorists, is national suicide.

God bless Tancredo. He's just been added to my ($$$$) list, along with Pat Buchanan and Jim Robinson.

"taco bender"

"NO racism, remember?"

Sorry, didn't mean it that way. Our son-in-law is Hispanic, we use this term with him (only when we chide him)but not out of any twisted way of thinking. We do not allow "Racism" in this family, but we do not let PC rule this family either, sorry you took it that way.

This continual kowtowing to such a corrupt and aggressive nation of pinheads is an absolute outrage.

I agree with you. I am a rabid supporter of the President, but he must understand how upset many of us are by some of his actions toward Mexico. I hope he and his strategists learn that soon. We must keep the Fox out of the henhouse.

Don't be sorry Grandmother, this is how I responded to one of these sensitive souls, that was outraged by the term.

LOL! Here we are into 15 years of being invaded by millions upon millions of illegal aliens, that are defecating on our sovereignty that have no respect for our laws or our country, our borders and immigration policies have turned into a complete, total national security disaster and a national disgrace, and your whining and crying about someone saying "taco bender!!!" LOL!

LOL! Thanks for the laughs. And get your stinking priorities straight.

You have to understand Grandmother, there are people in this country that are just waiting to accuse anyone who disagrees with them, as being a racist. This is their weapon, and its very effective. They have made it where if you say anything "bad" or derogatory about your enemy, or people that are literally invading your country, that "you are worse than them".

This kind of thinking is lunacy. But they have perpetrated this bull $hit on most of the country. Most of Americans are rendered little fools who are afraid to say anything anymore. They no longer have the guts to get angry and speak their minds, as they are afraid.

Thats why I personally stay away from remarks like that. I wont give them the ammunition they so desire. And I am confident Grandmother that you are no nazi, KKK member or belong to some secret racist group, LOL! Take care.

I'm completely mystified at this. Thanks for the response - it really is unimaginable. You hear absolutely nothing about it in our news (Houston area). I can't imagine why we would even consider not stepping up our military presence there and squashing this kind of activity.

There was a horrible case here in Texas in the Big Bend area. A father took his three year old daughter camping, they ran into a drug deal, the father was killed and the little girl put into the fathers van, the dealers set the van on fire and burned her to death.

I also would like to read that story.

Why defend something if it isn't good? Why mock someone that doesn't understand good, or can't get it?
