Group-sexual assault in swimmingpool (in the Netherlands)

Joan van den Dungen, EINDHOVEN - Two girls from Helmond (Dutch city), aged 14 and 15, have been sexualy assaulted this weekend by players of a soccerteam made up of immigrant youths from Rotterdam in the tropical swimmingparadise 'De Tongelreep' in Eindhoven.

Police and employees of the swimming pool managed to detain six suspects after they feeled up and kept harrassing the girls. According the director of the swimmingpool, Arie Heesterbeek, the boys struck shortly before leaving after their supervisor went to the reception to call them out of the water by the intercom. "They tried to get away, but thanks to clues from the personel and other swimmers the police managed to detain them Their supervisor was very affected because of it, he is in deep shame".

The direction of 'De Tongelreep' took stringent precautions five years ago after especialy boys from immigrant decent regualry sexualy assaulted girls. Most perpetrators have to undergo theraphy and learn how to adapt to Dutch moral standards.

Also all other swimming pools in the Netherlands seem to have these kind of problems. "Some guests have to learn to keep their fingers to themselves, not to touch the girls. We do not tolerate this behavior", says Heesterbeek.

Since the prevention-project 'Kennen and be known' in 1997 -the swimming pool was known then as the 'Tongel-rape'- in Eindhoven, the number of sexual assaults decreased with 60% to some seven incidents a year. "Our approach works", says Heesterbeek. "There also is almost no repeat by people who were caught. But every sexual assault is one too many. Our complete staff is specialy shooled to deal with immigrant kids. Furthermore there are seventeen security camrea's. The chance they get caught is 100%! The swimming pool made a deal with the police in Eindhoven and other cities, but also with bureau HALT, that helps youth who go astray."

The saddest thing about this, is that while precautions can be taken to catch the perpetrators and minimize their chance to get away with very much; nothing will restore to your young adolescent girls, growing into women, the sense that young women used to have in the West, that it was a happy and spiritually meaningful fun time. This sort of thing takes much of the happy spirit out of being young and looking forward to being courted and made over by those of the opposite sex who know how to behave well, and make girls feel appreciated and adored.

Without having had that sense--so basic to the normal instinctive development--there may be a souring of the attitude towards life; towards romance and family, and the progression of the generations. On the other hand, there may be a cynical progression towards promiscuity. What there will not be--not from any rational point of view--is any discernible benefit from multi-cultural diversity.

Don't you wish that we could reserve all the "Joys" of multi-cultural diversity for the "Liberals," who have inflicted it on others?!

Le Pen's attack on the European Union was an attack on the new financial and economic organization of Europe. It is ordinary French citizens (especially in the east and the south of France) who do not want an Islamic France -- or Europe. Therefore they fear Islamic immigration. And it is often industrialists and other financial leaders who don't see the problem. Plenty of "softness" here as well. Sometimes I think it is partly a mistaken view of what it is to be kind and also the mistaken notion that we can be protected from all bad events and people. How often do you hear the old canard "root causes" trotted out? There are evil people and evil forms of government. Sometimes you have to be ready to smack them a good one. This comes from a very peaceful person with, I hope, a dose of common sense.

It's not only the religion. Their culture as well. Turkish youth don't do it like the Moroccans.

Moroccan parents only feel responsible for their kids for what the do inside the house. Outside their home the kids are allowed to do anything. This problem is also noted by the police.
