the embargo on cuba is the most idiotic component of u.s. foreign policy---after 40+ years, what could be more obvious than the fact that castro is still in power and only the people of cuba suffer. this is shameless pandering for votes in an election year.

I taped the speech and just finished watching it .It was a terrific speech, full of passion and sincerity. It was wonderful to see President Bush getting so many standing ovations, after the vileness that he had to endure last week. Naturally, the national news glossed over the rousing reception-Dan Rather showed a clip of Bush, without sound and then Dan told us what Bush said, instead of letting the viewers hear Bush's actual words. I despise the media.

What kind of books are you looking for; children's, teen, adults? I was at the Scholastic Books Warehouse Sale last week and they had a whole section of children's books in Spanish. I plan to go to the sale in Dec. and get some books for one of our 'foster children' who lives in Mexico. The other is in Belo Horizonte, but I don't think Scholastic had anything in Portuguese!!
