McKinney Wants Two Investigations
WXIA-TV ATLANTA (Channel 11) ^ | May 19, 2002 | Jon Shirek

Posted on 05/19/2002 5:28:19 PM PDT by Jen

Georgia Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney seemed unmoved by President Bush's insistence Friday that he did not ignore warning signs about the Sept. 11 attacks.

McKinney, who spoke as she tried to escape reporters in DeKalb County, said Congress should launch not one, but at least two investigations.

McKinney, who was widely criticized after insisting in March that Bush ignored warnings of an impending attack, said Friday that all she ever wanted was an investigation.

11Alive's Jon Shirek asked McKinney about critics who called her reprehensible for suggesting that President Bush might have allowed the attacks so his friends in the defense industries could profit from a war.

"Well, you know, I never said that, and it's very important that we understand, I called for an investigation," she responded.

On March 25, McKinney told listeners of KPFA-FM in Berkeley, Calif., that former President Bush might be making money from the defense industry during this war.

McKinney said, "Former President Bush sits on the board of the Carlyle Group. The Los Angeles Times reports that on a single day last month, Carlyle earned $237 billion selling shares...the army's fifth largest contractor."

McKinney asked Friday why Congress should not investigate the former president, his son, and the defense industries.

"And that's an investigation also that could take place along the lines of the Enron investigation," she said.

Denise Majette, a retired state judge seeking to unseat McKinney in Georgia's 4th District, said McKinney succeeds only at making inflammatory statements she can't back up to get attention and votes.

"Trying to divert attention from the real issues. The fact that she's been a totally ineffective legislator in the ten years that she's been in Congress," said Majette.

McKinney says only that she is gratified that so many others, including Majette, have joined her in calling for an investigation of what the president knew before the attacks.

I wondered the same thing. Also, could it have been 2.37 billion? What about the day before that day? or the day after? Was there a reorganization or a company selloff to account for it? 'Pod.

I think we should investigate every member of congress and then throw them all out.

I think Congressman McKinney was directly involved in the attacks as the planning mastermind. I want an investigation and full tax audits for the last 5 years. Shame on the people in her district that keep sending her back to Congress.

How 'bout an investigation of Cynthia McKinney?

McKinney currently faces a formal hearing before a Georgia state administrative law judge, who will consider evidence offered by the State of Georgia on no fewer than six (6) counts of election law violations stemming from McKinney's activities in a voting precinct in DeKalb County, Georgia on election day 2000. McKinney is alleged to have invaded a polling place during polling hours, harassed and intimidated poll watchers, and directly solicited votes while in the polling place. The Georgia State Board of Elections heard the evidence and twice voted unanimously on all six counts to recommend action by a state administrative law judge.

Perhaps we should launch two investigations into why McKinney's IQ is so apparently low...

Has anybody ever ask this person pointed questions and quizzed her on the specifics of her allegations? Has anybody asked this person to produce evidence to support her allegations? Has anybody said to her that the evidence in the public domain does not logically support her allegations? Has she produced anything remotely that looks like evidence to support two investigation?

Arrrrggghhhh! Just when my blood pressure was returning to semi-normal. At least Majette calls 'em as she sees 'em.

I call for an investigation into whether or not Ms. "Kabul Cindy" McKinney possesses even a shred of gray brain-matter!

Why don't the other members of Congress shut this woman up

Perhaps it's because the leadership that's trotted out doesn't even know her name........

BLITZER: Is it, Congressman Armey, unpatriotic to raise these questions at this time in the middle of this war on terror?

ARMEY: No, it's not unpatriotic, and there is a way to seriously raise the questions which is being done by a lot of people.

There is a little politics afoot. You know that. Clearly people like Cynthia White (sic) being way out of control on the House floor. The sort of the -- the recycling of old Watergate cliches as one ponders these matters. It's political, it's subtle, and it achieves results.

But the serious people in this business, people like the senator and people like Porter Goss from our body, we're working hard on this thing and we're doing it in a serious manner. What you need to do is always put your blinders on to the politics and stay focused on what's important to this great nation.

BLITZER: You were referring to Cynthia McKinney, the congresswoman from Georgia, right? Is that who you were referring to?

ARMEY: That's right. I mean, quite frankly, the good news with Cynthia is that nobody takes her seriously when she makes these outrageous allegations, as she's made on the floor of the House of Representatives.

Source

If Blitzer doesn't set the record straight, everybody is left to wonder who "Cynthia White" is.

Why should she quit when she is getting all this attention.

Well, you always need a low end to get an accurate reading of just about anything. With her it's intelligence, class, dignity, aptitude - you name it. So, all this attention keeps our level up high.

About 10 minutes of searching on Google reveals the following:

Carlyle Group spun off United Defense Industries in December 2001.

In other words, Catherine McKinney is an idiot.
