A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 5/15 and 5/16/02

This is a special double-edition daily dose due to FR being down yesterday...
President Bush and his administration were in the defensive today as Democrats and the media swarmed around revelations that the President was given a general warning about possible hijackings before September 11th. It was revealed later in the day that the very same Democrats leading the negative charge, Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt, also knew of the briefings yet failed to let the media know. By the end of the day, it was the Republicans in Congress leading the charge and taking the Democrats to task for their usual games of partisan slander.
This afternoon, in a move to give the public more knowledge on the exact nature of the briefings, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice confronted the media with detailed national security intelligence in the months leading up to September 11th. It was made clear that the intelligence briefings given to the President were not specific or detailed enough to prevent the suicide bomber attacks.
In much lighter news, the President began the day at the First Annual National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast. Later he presented the Congressional Gold Medal to President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy.

Why provoke when you can summon? Then summon a clue: all your posts on this thread are off-topic and therefore inappropriate.

And you are right, he is much more handsome in person I attended a rally in Austin during the controversial recount period and Bush came out of the capitol building briefly. I was thrilled to see him, but appalled by how casually he seemed to regard his own safety. I kept expecting some sniper to turn up or some car to come speeding out of nowhere. He was so laid-back and smiling that day. I was so busy hunting for danger I could hardly enjoy my sighting of him, but my kids have never forgotten what it was like to see him, even at a distance. We were tired, but after he returned inside, the whole crowd was re-energized...If I heard "he-ey, ho-oh, Gore's gotta go!" one more time...aaarrrgghhh..We needed a new slogan, believe me.
He really has a "nice" face. Albert Camus said, "Alas, after a certain age every man is responsible for his face." Laura has a "nice" face, too, as one accustomed to smiling and tender expressions. Both seem to wear their character lines well and seem comfortable with who they are, not pretentious or conniving.

8 The righteous man is rescued from trouble, and it comes on the wicked instead. Wow - that surely goes with what I prayed tonight (posted earlier on the dose) about Haman's (political) end coming to the dems.

I know you must come away from these rude and tasteless comments of yours thinking you have won some kind of flame war, But flame wars are like winning a medal at the "Special Olympics" It's kinda cool, but you're still a retard

Yeah, well let 'em sink lower and lower - for my money, what they are doing is sinking their own ship. In their greed for power, they have lost all perspective on who they work for - YOU AND ME!! Everytime they open their mouths, they lose more voters. Let 'em keep it up and we'll have more than a majority in the Senate.

I did see Ari this morning and he is remarkable I've been impressed with him from day one...happy for him that he's gotten engaged. Hopefully his wife will help to make their home a refuge. He's got to be the coolest head out there, and I don't mean because it has built-in ventilation! :)

if the democratic party loses as little as 10% of the minority vote, they are dead meat. They are scared that he will repeat his success in texas, nationally. And i think he will. I'm getting the same sense. That the demrats know they're facing another 2nd run like Reagan had. More like the Reagan steamroller rather than the Reagan 2nd Run. And they get wackier every day trying to find a way to stop it.

built-in ventilationLOL LOL! That reminds me of something I've noticed - except for Lott, I don't see hair pieces worn by Pubby men but I notice a lot of Daschles who change hair hats fairly often. (And I don't mean to demean enhancers - good heavens, I color my hair and wear make-up!) But it says volumes to me about self-acceptance and self-confidence. I notice it, I guess, because I love bald men.

I think you've made a point. I've heard more than one person telling me that they fear W will not be around in 04. He's a bit of fatalistic when it comes to personal safety, and this ain't good news.

Hey! I was just about to go to bed, but I had to say "Hi!"
Tomorrow should be interesting...the smack-down will commence, and Daschle and Gephardt will be totally defeated! Ha!
See you tomorrow!
