A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 5/15 and 5/16/02

This is a special double-edition daily dose due to FR being down yesterday...
President Bush and his administration were in the defensive today as Democrats and the media swarmed around revelations that the President was given a general warning about possible hijackings before September 11th. It was revealed later in the day that the very same Democrats leading the negative charge, Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt, also knew of the briefings yet failed to let the media know. By the end of the day, it was the Republicans in Congress leading the charge and taking the Democrats to task for their usual games of partisan slander.
This afternoon, in a move to give the public more knowledge on the exact nature of the briefings, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice confronted the media with detailed national security intelligence in the months leading up to September 11th. It was made clear that the intelligence briefings given to the President were not specific or detailed enough to prevent the suicide bomber attacks.
In much lighter news, the President began the day at the First Annual National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast. Later he presented the Congressional Gold Medal to President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy.

For all of us Bush babes, and for all the lurkers, I have a constructive suggestion:
MAN THE PHONES!!
Tomorrow, call CNN, CNBC, local affiliates of the networks, your Senators and Congressman, ADVERTISERS of news shows, THE LOCAL DEMOCRAT PARTY HQ, talk radio, and newspapers. If you are a shareholder, call Time-Warner, GE, and Disney. Cancel subscriptions. Sell stock if you can. Make a fuss...a BIG fuss!
We are the broken-glass Republicians, the veterans of the Battle of Florida! Get that fighting spirit back. We are CITIZENS, NOT SPECTATORS!!!

Democrats continue to cling to their campaign slogan that Bush is a lightweight dunce. As long as they continue to "misunderestimate" him he will always be a step ahead of them. They are running scared. It is becoming very obvious they are worried about November. They want to bring the President's popularity down as they fear it is going to result in votes for the GOP.

Why provoke when you can summon? So your statements on this thread are the gentle pleadings of one who seeks to 'summon' us to the higher ground of intellectual political discourse? No provocations intended? You're use of the language is as deceitful as Clinton's.

Correction; make that 'Your' instead of 'You're'. Sorry.

They come here to vent their frustration. What I wonder is why would anyone go where he is not wanted to say what is not true to people who know what the truth is? It's a new level of stupidity in my book.

I started e-mailing Daschle and Gebhardt today, and will continue with the rest of the line-up tomorrow. I was so livid today I could hardly put words down without profanity. But they will get my 2 cents for sure.
Also, let's make sure we send our support to the President and his administration to let them know we are fully behind them.

Take your little self someplace else, and let us enjoy looking at a REAL MAN and his gorgeous wife in peace. I am seriously trying to categorize this phenomenon. Are you indicating it is driven primarily by superficial, emotional constructs?

They have been scared since Bush first announced that he was going to run for president. They knew he won a close election for governor of Texas, then went on to win re-election by a virtual 70% landslide. They knew he made inroads with minorities, and if the democratic party loses as little as 10% of the minority vote, they are dead meat. They are scared that he will repeat his success in texas, nationally. And i think he will.

Democrats started that day bashing the President and by the end of the day after revealing they knew too they are backing off and defending themselves. We can't blame it entirely on the Democrats. After all the Liberal media's behavior is just as shamefull.
