It Looks Like Some Top Democrats are Backing Away From Accusations of Bush Mishandlement of 9/11
Fox News ^ | 5/16/02 | Pyro7480

There was a report on Brit Hume's Special Report program detailing Democratic accusations of Bush Administration midhandlement of the situation prior to 9/11, after the report mentioned yesterday. They had clips of Gephardt and Daschle's response to it, but then said that later in the day, Bob Graham and Joe Lieberman had moved away from accusations of mishandlement.

The lovely and talented Senator John Edwards is all over the BBC "not wanting to exploit the story", while he exploits the story and bashes Bush.

That might play with the Biased Broadcasting Corporation, but it's not flying over here. Edwards has already been caught in a lie. At the same time Edwards - a member of the Senate Intel Committee - was giving vague, hemming-and-hawing responses about what they were told and when they were told it (lots of "I don't recall"s), a couple of Republican members of the same committee said flat out they were told the same things Bush was told, and that there was no way in hell Bush, or any of the rest of them, could ever have seen 9/11 coming with the information he was given at the time.

This sort of thing has happened to Edwards a number of times in recent weeks: Every time he's pressed to give a straightforward statement on any matter or issue, he does a little dance around it instead and says nothing of substance, always giving off the impression it's because he doesn't KNOW anything of substance. This man is simply not prepared for a run for the presidency. If he tries, his own RAT primary opponents will eat him alive, and so will the press. Tim Russert tore him to shreds a couple of weeks ago.

Help the RATS understand that every cheap shot will boomerang on them. Call and raise Hell with every federal, state, and local RAT elected official you know.

The Democrats will stop at nothing. This cheap shot shows it loud and clear, and it may well backfire on them by revealing so blatantly just exactly what they are.

This is the last straw for me. Come November, I'm voting straight Republican, all the way down to the most meaningless local level positions, no matter how good a given Dem might be or how bad a given GOP candidate might be. If there's no GOP candidate for a given office, I'll write in myself.

That was yesterday's "big" scandal- the picture of President Bush that you could buy for $50 or something like that- as soon as the web and talk radio started buzzing about clinton's selling national security secrets & the Lincoln bedroom, it fizzled out fast.

And yes, I don't doubt that the Administration learned from clinton's "immunization" ploy... I always found only one thing that consistently shut up or scared clinton's cheerleaders when debating them...

"But you know, we are learning from this..."

It's like those court room dramas where the judge asks things to be stricken from the record, but the jury won't actually forget what they just heard.

Ah, but the jury has to make a decision the moment the witnesses are interrogated and the arguments are made. It's six months till November. The voters will have LONG forgotten about the photo, and Enron, and this ... but they will have had instilled in them a general feeling, reinforced over months and months and months (because you know spreading fear and hate are the only platform the RATS have this year), that the Democrats in general are not very pleasant or trustworthy people.

I can hardly believe that the Democrats actually stooped this low. Prior to this incident I always tried to hold out a belief that they had America's best interest in mind. I no longer feel that way. The Dems are pure scum, bottom of the barrel scum.

My disdain for them now matches that previously held only for the media.

I think it's time to revive a famous chant from the pre-election months in 2000.

Democratic leaders...

It's Time for You to Go!

FOX also stated that the Bush administration issued copies of the warning that were also sent to Congress. In other words Congress received almost exactly the same informational warning as Bush. If they (the DNC)want to blame Bush, they must also blame some of their own Congressmen.

FOX Report says that the Dems are in full retreat on this issue and that the Republicans are now claiming that the DNC was attempting to unfairly politicize the 9/11 attack. Shame on Hillary Clinton.

.......Good Grief! What is it going to be tomorrow?

Ari Fleisher's answers were great and so patient to the mind-numbed press corps, and then Condi Rice met with the same reporters and pleasantly took all the fight out of them. By the time of the evening news, the dems were no longer in control of the issue.

Yep! Bush in Charge! He has put together a good team that does it's job. Unlike the Circus Act of the last 8 years.

Every attack by the DIVISIVE DIMS is honestly responded to and the DIMS looks like the fools that they are. Little tommy has REPEATEDLY attacked Bush since about December and he has responded superbly. I think the DIMS are shooting themseles in the foot - they have absolutely NO leadership! I think some DIM jaws are gonna drop come November!......

Actually, given the ratio of hype to substance, it would be more accurate to say that they dropped a candy bar that looks like a turd in the punchbowl, a la the pool-cleaning scene in Caddyshack.

I don't think it should apply to just the leaders. Although, isn't it amazing how Tom and Dick come out and make these full court presses and then hours later, prominent Democrats come out a refute what their so-called 'leadership' has said. I wonder how many times Tom and Dick will continue to be such fools.

I was thinking today how there should have been a fair amount of outrage over Tom and Dick's letter to the news media. I mean, think about it. Here we have the government, or representatives of the government trying to control the news and the press. Shouldn't the NYT have been up in arms about this and particularly since MSNBC and CNN complied with their request? The press loves to bitch about 'government controlled' media in other countries. Sheesh...we've got it in our own backyard and they don't call it! God, I hate the press. I hate the Dems too. Every single one of them.

I watched Special Report as well. Brit made a reference to a speech that the Vice President is to give tonight. I didn't catch the entire story, but I think Brit implied that the VP will resond to the Democrap attacks on GW. Does anyone know the time and place of the speech?

C-SPAN is going to air it; it's in their database. Unfortunately, it's not actually on their schedule yet. I see a big empty 9-hour opening on C-SPAN's schedule starting at 10:07pm EDT tonight, so you should probably just flip on C-SPAN and wait for one of those every-15-minutes updates at the bottom of the screen. It'll probably say then.

claiming that the DNC was attempting to unfairly politicize the 9/11 attack

Seems to me that that shouldn't be a 'claim' but a statement of fact.

The Dems are scum.

Perhaps Graham and Liarman noticed the Drudge Report.

How so?

Someone on DUh posted an editorial cartoon that was already in bad taste (of President Bush piloting a plane, labeled "budget" into the WTC, labelled "Social Security") and removed the labels.

The democratic-socialists are much like their German counterparts when it comes to telling the big lie.

Ari Fleisher's answers were great and so patient to the mind-numbed press corps...

He was great, but I have to admit I find myself wishing he were sometimes more like C. J. Cregg on The West Wing; I wish he would just tear into them when they ask stupid questions and show them up for the RAT tools that they are. Every once in a while he does do this, but not nearly as often as I would like.

Of course, treating them like kindergarteners is the next best thing. *grin*

The Dems do not have the slick PR that used to come out of the Clinton White House. Now, Daschle, Gephardt and McAuliffe are so incompetent that they are exposing their shallow opportunism to many who haven't been paying close attention ( like Freepers have.)...Yesterday, the photo of the President showing concern was insensitive! Today, he was pilloried for not "warning" the world of UBLs plans. Good Grief! What is it going to be tomorrow?

Clinton was a genius at working the middle, where national elections are won. Daschle, Gephardt, McAuliffe are attack dogs, throwing red meat to the faithful, and they can't get beyond that.

However that doesn't mean some other dem won't by 2004, and red meat=turnout, which is critical in an off year. We could use someone in a role like that instead of Trent.

BTW, the Bush pic was great, millions of impressions on TV, and I bet no one, other than dem loyalists, paid attention to what it was about, just a great visual.
