WHY RUSH IS DISGRUNTLED (Bush is advancing the Democrats most liberal agenda )

WHY RUSH IS DISGRUNTLED

On Monday's show, the Doctor of Democracy made a sad diagnosis: "If the Reagan Revolution is not dead, then it's dying." If there was a model that the Bush administration used in establishing itself, it was the Reagan presidency. But now Bush is advancing the Democrats' most liberal agenda items - something particularly frustrating at a time when Bush's popularity would make it easy for him to recruit new conservatives.

Many of you have been critical of Rush's reactions to Bush's actions on spending over the recent months, and we took more calls of this sort on Monday - people who'd convinced themselves that the farm bill made sense or that Bush had some grand strategery at play. Now, Rush could throw his beliefs out the window for a day or two and say things that you might want to hear - like when he endorsed Clinton back in 1992 - but that's not what he does.

Rush can only give you his honest reaction, even when he doesn't like those reactions. That's honesty, folks, and it goes to disprove a key criticism many of the nation's liberals have made of Rush over the years. They've said that Rush is a party hack, and that he'd support the Republican Party no matter what they did. They charged that the EIB Network was simply a tool, that we were in daily contact with the powers that be to get marching orders. Well, that has pretty much been dispelled here: Rush is disgruntled.

Comparing Rush to Jesus Christ?

That's laying it on a bit thick don't you think?

And he won't stay #1 if he keeps annoying enough of his listeners.

This has happened before, you know.

A number of years ago Rush started obsessing about economics, money and other financial stuff.

People started complaining and I think his ratings started to drop, resulting in an abrupt about face.

Even Rush can't lead to a place where people don't want to go.

The good, that Rush has done, is in the past.

I don't think that Preident Bush is too upset, or all that concerned about Rush ... right now. What we know about this President Bush , is that he demands loyality . He won't treat Rush ( and hasn't, I bet ) as Rush now seems to demand to be treated , as someone VERY " special " and oh so important. That , I am willing to bet , is what is sticking in Rush's craw .

Rush sees himself as a " KING MAKER ". When he went to the celebrations, for the post '94 elections, he was fawned over, and lectured the GOPers on what they must and must not do. Yes, he helped; however , Rush was NOT the one who got these men and women elected ; they did the heavy lifting. Rush is an egotist, and somewhat delusional. He's lost you, he's lost me, my husband stopped listening to him many years ago , and many more are tuning him out.

What annoys me, about the bashing, is that those here, who have reviled Rush, for years and years, anre nw singing his praises. The boring / never ending bashing, gives aid and comfort to those who trash & bash Bush and always have done.

Rush is a hypocrite. Yes, it's an act and " entertainment " ( ? not entertaining to me. ) , as well as being an arrogant man's reaction to not being kowtowed to by W. Come the elections, Rush will again be beating the drums for Bush. That would be fine and dandy, IF he had critisized the president in a less juvenile, petulant , more constructive way. Instead, Rush uses the bashing to replace actually having to do any work / thinking, about more substansive things; as he used to do. This was especially apparent today, when he grovelled to two callers, during the last hour.

I bet he really is in favor of all the things you mentioned. He is merely playing one group over another right now.

Rush sees himself as a KING MAKER ! Now, Rush is disgruntled because the president isn't inuding him in private sessions , on what to do. It's as simple as that.

"Rush has become the new voice of anger radio. Nothing is done right and absolutely no one,but Rush, knows what they are doing-not George Bush, not Dick Cheney, not Condi Rice, not Colin Powell, not the FBI, not Karl Rove, not the CIA,not the Republicans in either chamber( he might have a point there!) and on and on and on."

It's been my experience that as people get too far removed from "the street," that their tone becomes more agressive and their "solutions" become more radical and less practical.

Likewise, the ever-angry Dittoheads don't want to remind themselves that while Rush was on the air claiming that Hillary would NOT run for Senate in 2000, that Southack was on FR saying that she would.

Now Rush wants to claim that Bush has turned to the Left.

Nonsense! The Left would never have killed the Kyoto Treaty on Global warming or pulled the U.S. out of the International Criminal Court, much less deep-sixed the Soviet-U.S. ABM Treaty, yet Bush did all of that and more.

What liberal would have appointed Ashcroft and Olsen to the DOJ? Those two just wrote to the Supreme Court stating that the OFFICIAL U.S. government position is that the 2nd Amendment is an individual right, not a collective right.

But has Rush picked up on these Conservative moves? Of course not. You can't get your listeners all enraged if you tell them that our elected officials are moving things our way. Nor are those listeners very likely to be open-minded about the truth after they've been enraged by someone whom they look up to.

That's quite a disservice, all for mere ratings.

NOTE TO RUSH: making money is easy. You don't have to sell out your principles to make it hand over fist, and selling out those principles AFTER you've made decent money is an even bigger character flaw.

"And judging from how the congressman and Senators voted on this bill, The American people must want it."

Suppose fifty one percent of the American people wanted to hang body shop owners because they charge too much? Would you be for that? We don't live in a democracy, wich by the way, is mob rule. We live in a republic whos government is restricted by a well defined constitution.

"SADLY, Rush NEVER wwent on sooooooo long about Clinton's lies and scandals...he would mention some in PASSING and then off to an SUV update. IF he had zeroed in on Clinton like he's doing to Bush, Clinton might have been thrown out....Hillary also....but he justs can't get enough criticism of Bush i in 3 hours!!!"

You can't be serious. Or maybe you've been hitting the crack pipe too much lately.

"If the GOP had 435 seats in the house and 100 seats in the senate and a president who had been elected with an 80-20 margin, they still wouldn't have the balls or the intelligence to try and implement anything that looked like their philosophy. They are too afraid of hurting someones feelings."

That about sums it for me lately.

Clever, but I suggest you ask ex-Senator Slade Gorton of Washington about how much difference my party has made to Republicans who go back on their word (especially the 2nd Amendment).

I was proudly one of those who helped put Skeletor out to pasture. When Gorton voted Not Guilty on perjury during Sh#$head's impeachment, when The Thing was obviously and clearly guilty, that sealed it.

Voted Libertarian. Would do so again, twice if I could. 'Bye, you wretched sleazeball Slade!

One of these days, the Stupid Party might think twice before they decide that lame old farts like Gorton and Oldbob Dole are "good enough".

They're not. Not even close.

There are only four or five states where the Senate seat is realistically in play this year. Three of those states are Iowa, South Dakota and Minnesota.

Republican control of the Senate is not worth Bush signing CFR, the Farm Bill, amnesty for illegal aliens, the "Patriot Act", nationalization of airport security, and so on. Rush is right on this and maybe there is hope but I think the Bush administration, aka the Titanic is so arrogant towards conservatives it's probably too late to turn it around. I have noticed that when people on FR used to criticize Bush a dozen Bushbots would pop out of the wordwork to try and explain just why Bush was selling out on a particular issue. Seem to be fewer and fewer Bushbots lately.

Now that's a Paul Begala argument if I ever heard one. Hell let me chime in too. If 18% of Americans thought like you, should your thoughts become law? or if 95% of Americans thought you were gay, would that make you a homosexual? Nothing like spinning the facts huh?
