Prayer Request-My Sister's Terminal Lung Disease

My sister was diagnosed with a rare lung disease on Friday, Interstatial Lung Disease. The prognosis is terminal. She is only 29 and in otherwise good health.

Appearantly, an infection, the nature of which is unknown, is producing a constant state of pneumonia. Since the doctors don't know the nature of the infection, they can not stop it. It is causing scar tissue to form all throughout the lungs. Scar tissue isn't very elastic and will not permit oxygen to travel from the lungs to the blood.

End result is that the doctor said in 1 to 2 years she will suffocate.

Requesting prayers for her and any medical info that could be of help/leads in stopping this infection before it ruins the remaining lung tissue.

Thanks for your prayers. They were working, but Sarah has taken a turn for the worse. I pray the Lord has mercy on her and heals her or takes her quickly.

Thank you for your prayers and words of encouragement. Yes, her invite to Christ to enter her heart was a great day for me! :) I saw some fruit even when she laid in the hospital bed....caught herself swearing and asked for forgiveness. What a relief, but now, she may have to walk through that door. I will dearly miss her if that happens. Not a question of IF, but WHEN for us all, no? WAY too young at 29 though. :(

Lord, please show your loving and healing hand to bring Jeff's brother back to health and strength. Bolster his family Lord and help them grow in love and faith in You. Lord, keep the disease from returning to him and let him fulfill everything that you have for him to do. Give Jeff and Jeff's family strength as they support this brother and bring us all closer together as we go through these tribulations together. Thank you for hearing my prayer....in Christ's name I pray. Amen.

Jeff, thanks for your thoughts, prayers and fasting. She was doing well untill last Monday, when she just started going downhill again. It is frustrating....and I think nearing the end. I can't tell you how compassionate and caring the nursing and doctor crew in Boise were. Never seen anything like it. Truely a great people and community.

Thanks again Jeff. God bless your family and all the family's for those that pray and think about us...heck...for the whole world...all of us. I pray we all find Christ's love and salvation someday! Now, THAT would be grand! :)

Lorena, Thank you for your beautiful note. It seems the Lord is choosing to answer our prayers by taking Sarah home. Sometimes I wonder if medical science just doesn't prolong suffering too much. We will see tomorrow, as there will be a 'care' meeting to dicuss the future. A rough night tonight, but just got done watching The Climb for a second time. 1st was in the theater, 2nd was tonight on NBC.

I was on my knees tonight and cheering as 'Derick' accepted Christ into his heart on NATIONAL TV, PRIME TIME! YEAH!! As I reaffirmed my faith, I thought I could feel the prayers and coming together in Christ of the Lord's children! Yeah!

Thank you for your ping and prayers of a while ago. Been a while since I sat down and read through these again. Got back a little while ago from visiting Sarah across country. But thanks. She is taken a turn for the worse and I never know what the Lord will do tomorrow. I'm hoping it will be healing, but His will, not mine or ours.

Even if I ask for a snake, He will not give me one, 'eh? Thank you Lord!

Through ths whole ordeal, my mother has come to Christ. Two harvestable (is dat a word!?) new souls for the Lord! This is how He works I guess. Amen and Hallelujah!

So sorry that your sister has taken a turn for the worse. We've been through this same scenario and it is difficult to carry on knowing that your loved one will be taken much too soon. Prayers are on the way for your sister, you and the rest of your family.

Re: 140. I brought this one up to the doctor and he said that you should publish your findings. He didn't seem to be too open to 'internet' suggestions without clinical data to back it up. I guess I can understand. At that time she was improving....now, she is loosing ground day-by-day. My mother has been there with her for about 2 1/2 weeks now, watching it all happen. I'm not sure it I could do that with my daughters. Ugh... The doctor's rotate and I plan on sending the doc a link to this thread...maybe he will read through it b4 it is too late.
