Thirty or so Patriots and FReepers outnumbered peaceniks for the first time tonight on the corner of Blackstone and Shaw in Fresno, California! I counted eight peaceniks across the street from us. There were enough of us tonight (thanks in part to the Republican Central Committee who sent out faxes and emails these last few weeks) to spread out onto a second corner.
At one point during the evening, one of the peaceniks drove over to our side of the street to pass out handouts and generally tried to get us to agree with him that America is the worst terrorist country there is. (Not going to happen! We LOVE our country!) One of the patriots he was talking to said that even if the USA has some faults, it's definitely the best country around and he said he disagreed, that France or Sweden would be a better place to live. (Love it or leave it, Buddy.) When he didn't make any headway, he got in his car (which sported an upside-down flag) and drove off.
Tonight we listened to patriotic tunes, we bought out dormant patriotic fervor in many drivers by, we visited with each other, and had a great time! About a half an hour after the last of the peaceniks punched their time cards and went home at 6:30 on the dot, we packed up our signs, flags, bullhorns, etc. and vowed to do it again next Friday night.
FReepers attending tonight were:
To all those who could attend tonight, thanks for being there. To those who couldn't make it, we hope to see you next week.
FResno FReepers = America's Wake-up Alarm!
Hey, nice to see you notpoliticallycorewrecked!
I could not help to laugh at that peacenut! France and Sweden are better than the US? I guess if you like 90% of your wages taken to support the welfare state. I read a few days ago the author of the Pippi Longstocking books had to pay 102% taxes on the royalties! 102%! Boy, that sure stimulates initiative! But Sweden is now experiancing the same implosion the other socialist states experianced.
My pat answer to the statement that the USA is such a bad country is this: If it's so bad here, than why are people drowning in the Rio Grande, crossing deserts, packing themselves into cargo containers, in short, risking their lives to get here?
Keep us east coast Infinite FReepers abreast of the possible August Fri. night rally and Sat. picnic (I heard rumors of such) - hoping we can have an East Meets West Rally For America. Heck, maybe we should even bring out some of our peaceniks - not on the same plane though.
Kudos once again FResno FReepers - job well done!
Report indexed on Rally For America - EAGLES UP! The accounts/articles page has links to all the rallies and the image page has a sampling of pics from the ever growing movement to not let the anti-America crowd go unanswered.

National Cemeteries, Memorial Day Ceremonies, & Military Installation Locators
RaceBannon - It never rains in southern California, doncha know? We have only had a little over six inches of rain since last July 1st.
Nea Wood - I bought the cut out of the President from a woman at the Republican Central Committee. Now Dubya can FReep with us each Friday. He does get lots of attention from motorists driving by!
Dave Dilegge - We are getting ready to start seriously planning the August get together. We will be sure to ping you when we post a thread about it.
The thread about the Atlanta area upcoming freep of Demo-Rat Cynthia McKinney on May 18th is in Breaking News, but I'll ping you to it, SLJP. There are lots of links to threads about her and ideas for signs being posted on it.
Fresno FReepers, please join in on the Cynthia McKinney FReep thread and offer your ideas for a successful demonstration.
BUMP for the Troops!!!
Thanks for the young man part;-) Leadpenny - two trips in the planning - 1 June to NYC (I drive) and Aug. to Fresno - be there or be square Army dude.
Hope to see y'all in August!
Nope, nope, nope! There are no minor parts, only minor FReepers! (Which you are not!) This is a prime example of the Power of the FReep! All of the puzzle pieces came together in Fresno (as they do for every FReep where hearts and minds connect for the good of the U.S. and for the good of US!) and created a beautiful picture!
You may believe your part was minor (maybe you thought it was too easy?) -- but not all substantial and vital acts of love and compassion are back-breaking, time-consuming efforts!, and we all know how essential it was. We all know how much good came of your help. We thank you, wholeheartedly, for it!
Your help was extremely relevant!
