It really doesn't matter where B.C. is being sent. It goes to the independence of the presidency. We've had world wars where the previous administration was never consulted (and rightly so). I detest B.C. and absolutely believe he shouldn't have anything more to do with government but even if I didn't I would be against any president consulting previous administrations. It makes the current administration look like it needs training wheels.

When I first read this, I thought it must be a joke.

Then, I was furious.

Then, after reading the posts and thinking more about it, I have calmed down and think it is a brilliant - and very funny - move.

I can just see the Clintonoids jumping up and down with glee that their guy has FINALLY gotten an official something official to do.....

Caller: "Hello, I am calling from President Bush who is asking Bill Clinton to ........"

Happy feet dancing all over the room......Then, I can picture them hearing the rest of the call, their glee turning to a glumped throat gloom -----

Clintonoid: "Um, to where, sir? East Timor????" (arggghhhh)

They sink and sit and spin and plop and Clinton says - tell him YES!!!! I AM SO DESPERATE I WILL GO ANYWHERE!!!!

ROFLMAO!!!!

Does this not speak of Clinton's desperation and President Bush's brilliance?

We'll see how it plays out - but to me, at this moment, it is simply brilliant.

Do you know how much it costs you and me for this scumbag to be representing us in a country that was brutally opressed by his friends in Indonesia? The only people this is a cruel joke to besides you and me, the taxpayers, is the hapless victims of the regime in Indonesia.

I will bet the rent check that Slick won't be recieved well in East Timor, after all he did to stop them from becoming independant. I hope the media covers this poetic justice

but it is plainly the current condition of our nation

On both sides of the aisle and in the voters themselves.

Good luck to your children! God have mercy on them.

Bravo on the dramatics! LOL!

I think Bush had 4 choices of what to do with Clinton.

1. Ignore him like he has been doing. Clinton will keep increasing the pressure to be involved. Clinton will do everything possible to create a legacey.

2. Let Clinton get involved in this war. Clinton would sabatoge the war effort just to get democrats back in power.

3. Send him on an official mission to the middle of nowwhere, dealing with something unimportant to America.

4. State that since Clinton is a disbarred lawyer who stole government property on his way out of the White House he's not fit to represent this country.

I like choice 4, but because of the new tone that Bush wants to send, he choose choice 3.

If true, this is a great place for Clintoon, OFF THE PAGES OF THE NEW YORK TIMES!! Pres. Sleeze can't keep his mouth or pants shut, so this is probably a pretty good move by the White House. At least it is a long ways from the Middle East....

I guess this rules out prosecution of clinton for crimes committed in office.
Obviously the old boy's club is alive and well.
Disgusting to say the least...

I think Bush had 4 choices of what to do with Clinton.

I think it went something like this

Everyone gathered in Oval office....Hey, what if we did use Clinton somewhere, where could we send him ?

We could send him to stay with Arafat.

I know, how about to Alaska to view the pipeline location ? (Laughter)

No wait, we can send him to EAST TIMOR (Belly laughs).

It's done all the time, though. Getting sent to East Timor is like being sent to some former Third World leader's funeral somewhere. Clinton is a vainglorious nit to be accepting this assignment to Nowheresville, just as the Press has the sleezeball on the cover of Time (!) and is pimping him like he's the second coming. This is as close to the "action" as that con artist is going to get.; I think it's just short of being a humiliating assignment, personally.

My reaction's were the same as yours. I would still prefer Bush to say Clinton is not fit to go on a mission for the Bush Whitehouse. But that's not going to happen.

This does box Clinton in. Does he accept a mission that won't advance his legacey, or does he say no and look like an ungratefull jerk.

Shouldn't Bush wait until Mary Joe (Special New York Procecutor) finishes her investigation into the Mark Rich pardons and pardons of all those terrorists??!!

Has "compassionate conservatism" sunk to this low level??!!

Clinton thinks he can still win the Nobel Peace Prize...

A classic example of narcissistic personality disorder.

he isn't going to be able to do it in East Timor

Bush is killing him with kindness!

You know, Doug, it seems to me as if bush is intentionally trying to get out from under his base and thinks he can attract enough democrats, McCaniacs and illegals that will fill the void.

Maybe there is enough time for a Conservative to step forward and fill OUR void.
