And, I realize bull horns and tanks may appeal more to some voters. But, I also believe programs like the above appeal to other voters. And, who can FL citizens thank for leading the nation in helping seniors lead independent lives? As the NYT reported, here's who gets the credit:
Dunedin is one of more than 40 Florida communities working to be certified as "elder ready" under a program introduced in 2000 by Gov. Jeb Bush and the state's Department of Elder Affairs. The program, Communities for a Lifetime, is the country's most comprehensive effort to encourage independent living by older people, whom Dunedin and the rest of Florida have in abundance.
How many elderly people are you related to in FL who may know nothing about this program? Maybe there are times when the pen really is mightier than the sword....

Summer, I love your introduction. Jeb respects us all and his concern and caring for seniors is genuine - not just something on a campaign strategy to do list.
FYI: Dunedin is a charming town north of Clearwater but if anyone wants to buy a home there, there is a SINKHOLE PROBLEM. That's all I know on that subject so please let's get back to the subject of the thread so that summer doesn't smack my hand with a ruler. LOL
Jeb and seniors GENUINE COMPASSION COMBINED WITH LONG OVERDUE SOLUTIONS.

,,, what an interesting thread! Governor Bush is running with quite a torch by endorsing this concept. Thanx for BUMPing it to me. I live on New Zealand's Kapiti Coast, where 26,9% of the population are over 60 years of age. Kapiti and a northern city called Tauranga are our small scale "Floridas". I'm bookmarking this one!

Summer, you've got me all confused. I heard Tommy Daschle say that the Republicans hate old people and are going to do away with social security and health care and several other areas that are of great importance to our nations elderly.
According to your article, Jeb isn't doing any of these things. Tommy wouldn't lie, would he?????
Jeb is walking the walk while others, particularly the dems merely talk the talk, and lie about the efforts of others as usual.
Thanks for the ping.

Jeb Bush sounds like he is doing a wonderful job in Fla. Now if these seniors can get past the fact that they have always vote democrat, that their daddy voted democrat & their granddaddy voted democrat. That is a tough nut to crack, I hope he can continue to do it. How many terms has Jeb had?
