WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush and top members of his administration mingled and shared laughs Saturday with Washington reporters, insiders and some outsiders -- including famed British rocker Ozzy Osbourne -- at this year's White House Correspondents dinner.

Comedian Drew Carey was on hand to provide the entertainment during the more than three-hour event, doing stand-up comedy for the president and more than 1,800 guests, from top White House adviser Karl Rove to hard rocker turned reality show star Ozzy Osbourne.

I just read on Drudge about Ozzie the Ork's grand entry into the W.H. Press Correspondent's dinner. Instead of his body guards barking "Get out of the (bleepin') way.", they should have beeen pronouncing, "Unclean, Unclean" for this social leper.

Ozzy just goes to show you what hard work, honesty and frugality, and godly living can get you (carcasm).

Everything is "political," because everything is cultural.

I know Ozzy is all show, and that he does not really take part in human sacrifice and satanic rituals in his home, or in his free-time. Some of his lyrics do reveal that he is a pretty mentally-tortured guy, though, no? He seems to even be clearly stating that message in many places.

But we like certain "shows" because they speak to us in some way. I really want to know - what is it in his shows that you liked? What appealed to you?

But lyrics aside, and making gobs of money on a culture that has lost its moorings aside, what is there that is successful about Ozzy Osbourne, in an absolute sense? That the LSD didn't kill him? That he was not successful at killing his wife? That he did not take his own advice to others and kill himself years ago?
