LIVE THREAD White House Correspondent's Dinner 9:30pm
Posted on 05/04/2002 5:13:56 PM PDT by Hillary's Lovely Legs
The WHCA represents the White House press corps in its dealings with the administration on coverage-related issues.
A nine-member board of directors, elected by correspondents, addresses access to the chief executive; coverage arrangements; work space arrangements; logistics and costs for press travel to accompany a president on the road.
The WHCA also holds an annual dinner. The 2002 dinner will be held on May 4 at 9:30pm on C-Span. Drew Carey is the featured entertainment.

They just started it. You have to get a pix of Barney by the window for your A Day in the Life...

No meetings between them. Bush made a couple of jokes about Ozzy and Ozzy was so blitzed he was under the impression that the dinner was for him. Bush looked uncomfortable even mentioning his name.

LOL! It would have been a great ending! she would've bit him on the other leg while she was down!

Well, she has to shadow Dick Cheney so there will be a smooth transition when he leaves.

A liberal ditz, but a "good Aryan broad," (to use Darryl Gates' expression). Can you believe she's almost fifty?

Guy from FOX that Condi was sitting with is Bret Baier (sic)
To: Mo1
It was Bret Baier.

Ozzy was not "blitzed". He's been clean for years (Sharon's insistence) but he was his usual goofy, inappropriate self, standing on his chair and blowing kisses to Bush when the Pres. was talking about him. In all, a good night for the GOP with the younger crowd.

Carey's joke about the inaugural parade:
You know the weather is miserable, but it could be worse-- it could be a Gore Inaugural.
To: Burr5
The RNC should invite Ozzy and Ted Nugent and The Rock (for the second time) to the 2004 Convention.

I'd guess that your guess about Drew Carey being patriotic is correct. My daughters have a friend that is a mechanic in the USAF. He is currently stationed, "On an island near Saudi Arabia". That's all he can say, anyway...Drew Carey went over and entertained the troops and they all loved him. He sent back pictures to his family of himself with Drew.

And why does Cheney have a crutch? Did I miss something? Cheney injured his foot several weeks ago. I think he slipped or something at his home.

"We need the return of Imus!"
Actually, I preferred Darrell Hammond's performance last year over Imus. Hammond was a riot. Spent most of his monologue making fun of Clinton, doing his Clinton impressions, and it was priceless. I've still got it on tape.

why are hollywood/actors invited to this thing? they're not correspondents! i hate the mixture of so-called entertainers and politicians. it's very unseemly, imo.Ruling class elite and friends.
