I think Geraldo was flustered after taking hits all day from FNC talkingheads stateside and Hannity softened a bit ...may Ailes had asked everyone to quit piling on Geraldo. Geraldo who at times acts patriotic is nonetheless too emotive for his job....his obvious other shortcomings not withstanding. He acted like he felt sorry for the little ol terrorist puppetmaster....gag. The morning blonde chick Edie Donahey (??) really lit into geraldo according to my wife.

Dennis ...as you know....rightwing Christians ....even non evagelicals like me....are 95% bigtime Israel supporters. It's simply right and wrong or us versus them for me. I don't harbour much ambiguity on this issue.

The Israeli attempt to encourage school vouchers???

More like an attempt to know future battle plans.

The untold story here is that Israel's latest incursions were very successful. Israel has gained the upper hand, and Arafat lost, big time. On many levels. Don't be surprised if the Reuters of the world refuse to acknowledge that.

This is true. There is no erasing that the Israeli incursions have greatly reduced the level of terrorism, and will continue that effect for a long time ahead.

But, unfortunately, Arafat has risen from the near-dead before. When he went to Camp David, his popularity among his people was low because they feared he would betray their cause. Ever since he returned, having rejected all compromises, his stock in the Palestinian street has been high -- until this week. Now, once again, they fear he has gone soft and become a tool of the Western powers. Arafat will now be doing everything possible to prove he is just as militant as Hamas and friends. Whether he can pull it off remains to be seen, but the Saudi's sure seem to think he can.

"Mrs Saadat put into words the despair of the Palestinians after 19 months of violence."

DUH....maybe violence isn't the answer?

"For all Mr Arafat's promises of victory, the Israeli iron fist has left city centres in ruins, broken the lives of thousands and ripped the guts out of the Palestinian administration, just like the Education Ministry computers."

Perhaps all of Yasser's promises are empty. IMO, it would be very much in Ariel Sharon's best interests to allow the US and Brits examine the disks taken off those computers, so we can be witnesses if any "kill the Jews" propaganda is found on them.

" 'For 50 years Israel never brought us to despair. But seven years of Palestinian rule has brought us to the brink,' she said. 'Did we achieve a victory? Did we end the occupation? Only from around Arafat's compound.' "

Another DUH. I believe she is speaking the absolute truth...and believe equally that she has no concept of WHAT is true about these statements:

[almost] 50 years of Palestinian peace under Israel.
7 years of hell under Yasser's brand of compassionate dictatorship.
Yasser and like minded career terrorists have sold the Palestinian people a BAD BILL OF GOODS!

What happened to the glowing AP reports of Yasser's "triumphant" and "jubilant" tours after his release? Sounds like the people Yasser lied to all these years might be building up to their own little fatwa against him, heheheh...while Reuters and the AP will continue to blame Israel for Yasser's misdeeds.

Folks, I understand why you're thinking this is a glimmer of hope. I do think you're looking at this the wrong way though. These folks are angry with Arafat because he hasn't been evil enough. They think he should have been more violent against Israel. I don't think for a moment they feel that he has been too violent, that he has brought all this on them. They still utlimately blame Israel for their plight. They are just angry at Arafat because he didn't prevent it. Those people do not want peace, they just don't want to be the victims of violence. LOL, they can't stand their own medicine. For this reason I think you're attributing the wrong interpretation of the actions of those than are dumping on Arafat.

Darn right I know this and tell many about this. Rush Limbaugh is a great Christian supporter. Today's show is just about his *righteous* take on Israel/MidEast for the first 15 minutes......so far.....

There is a spiritual dimension to this war that we see in the MidEast. Atheists such as Justine Raimunda ignore this at their own peril.

I wouldn't get too optimistic over this. The complainers seem to want more violence not less. These people are not rational. Any bunch of 'people' who accept the idea and practice of strapping bombs to kids and sending them out to slaughter innocents ..... are beyond rational thought. They have become a fanatical death wish in the form of a human being. These people have sold their souls to hell and will cotinue their evil right up to the point where somebody with a soul puts a bullet throught their head.

a UN fact-finding mission to look into the Israeli atrocities in the Jenin refugee camp.

Small problem: there weren't any.

I wonder if these idiots ever think about how good their lives with be if instead of trying to exterminate Israel they worked with it. Maybe the common people do but they have no say in the matter. That may be the reason other Arab states have always kept this stirred up. A nation made prosperous by working with Israel would be a threat to their own regimes.

"Yeah, a glimmer, but only a faint one—notice that she claims to have been ruled by Israelis for 50 years—not 35 years, say, which would be the time since the 1967 'occupation.' "

I believe that the inteligence glimmerer is speaking of Yasser and Friends' New IMPROVED version of history, which makes all 'Palestinians' in existence today 'refugees' who live in 'refugee camps', and dates the 'Israeli occupation' back to 1948.

This bears repeating.

It is better that one man should perish than that a nation should dwindle and perish in unbelief.

What by showing other people that the Jews aren't such bad people after all? hah that message would only get across if their gov't run newspapers are allowed to run such stories.
