She wrote this right after the massacre by the Arab terrorists. I think she must have been pleased with Berlusconi's statements earlier this year that the "chattering insects" raked him over the coals for. For saying Western civilization is the best!

I wish we had more writers like her. dennisw described her as "a female swashbuckler," and I think that's fitting.

Camille Paglia is another "non-conservative" writer/commentator whose work I like a lot- she does not suffer fools gladly.

I took the time to read the entire article when it was previously posted. There are VERY few intellectually honest commentators on either side. This woman is without peer, IMO.

Unfortunately, there is no venue for her, other than perhaps a long long interview on Book Notes. She has much to offer, not that the masses would begin to understand.

FR has made a place for her, thankfully!

BTTT
Oriana Falacci is a hero. Defend her right to free speech and everyone's right to freedom of the press.

Voltaire wrote: "I may find what you say disagreeable, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

The French have come a long way since Voltaire and the Age of Enlightenment.
