Oregon Magazine should try to get the name correct- it's Fallaci, not Gallaci.

Can't believe that with the care I took copying a synopsis of this article that I put Gallaci instead of Fallaci in the title!

This woman has written an incredible essay. Please read the full article!

One of the Mods might fix it for you if you ask nice.

Thank you so much. It's such a relief not to have to look at that error. I never thought to ask one of the moderators!

Not only have I read this, I may have posted it a while back- or maybe I thought about it & was beaten to the punch.
She is a superb writer ( supposedly left-wing, but I could not care less- the old girl has fire, and honesty ) and other articles I've seen posted here by her are equally passionate.

Those title typos are embarassing, aren't they? I've done it more times than I care to think about...

Anyway, I'm pleased you posted this- many may not have seen it, and what she has to say is important.

Here are the addies of those:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/669794/posts
Anger and Pride by Oriana Fallaci.. Her first essay about 9-11-2002 attack

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/669775/posts
Anti-semitism today

That first addy has links to some of her other works & interesting commentary as well.

Thanks, backhoe. I'm glad it was posted before, and I'm still glad to post it again. It's a treasure. Lots of fiery language, too! LOL

Excellent article. I saw it a while back but just now read the whole thing. Reading her discussion of our Founding fathers gave me chills and a lump in my throat. I wish all Americans were taught the greatness of this generation, but anymore you hear these amazing people bashed and attacked as racists and scumbags. It's great to know that in Europe there are still intellectuals keen enough to recognize the truly great and momentous people of history. This article is significant and important. Thanks for posting it again.

The truth is blunt. A touch of venom gives it a nice edge.

It is indeed a treasure, and I like the fiery language, too.
It's all very fine to be ladylike, but there's also a time to speak bluntly and call a spade a spade.

Since I have a moment ( I woke up at 3 with a wolf-face in mine... that'll teach me to give Taffy a bite of pork from the Chinese takeout last night... ) I'll link those articles-

-Anger and Pride by Oriana Fallaci.. Her first essay about 9-11-2002 attack--

-Anti-semitism today--

I highly recommend reading & re-reading her work... not just for the opinions expressed, but for the manner in which she expresses them.
If you follow some of the links & comments, you'll see she has a highly effective narrative technique, too, when interviewing famous people.
