Joined by gubernatorial candidate Bill Simon, President Bush continued his trip on the left coast today as he spoke to a crowd in San Jose, CA regarding compassionate conservatism. Last night, Bush attended a fund raiser for Simon and raised $2.75 million dollars. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I don't think they're altered, that's how I found them. I'm pretty sure they were each speaking on those topics somewhere, and some enterprising photographers snapped those. About the same as all the photos that they kept trying to take of Ashcroft in front of the naked statue.

Yep, but she could vary the COLOR. Incidentally, I read somewhere that she had said her favorite color is yellow....kinda accounts for that Chaquita suit, I guess, but have you noticed that she doesn't wear yellow blouses with ole crusty?

HMama, thank you for your post re Rush. Our venerable host had declared this a no-Rush-bashing zone, but there is bashing, and then there is reasoned disagreement. I began to disagree with Rush so much as he shifted course that I haven't been able to listen to him for years. It was when he mocked the parents of a dead nine-year-old boy who died due to faulty goalpost equipment on the soccer field that was the last straw for me. I would tune in occasionally after that to see if he was moving more toward humanity and it kept deteriorating, to the point that all I did was get madder while listening.

It is not that I have sat back and just complained. I wanted him to know -- if he read his Emails -- that a vast majority of people can disagree with him [his coldness and mocking] and still be conservative and involved politically. I wrote him numerous Emails over the years in protest of this and other things that are now more flamingly apparent in his tirades, to no avail (doubt they were read). But before he got REALLY big, I sent him a personal letter by post, which I do believe he did receive, on a subject about which I knew an enormous amount through experience and he obviously knew squat, and asked him to consider the fact that he did not have the exposure to the truth or the knowledge of it to pronounce against what he ridiculed. You know, he backed off his mocking tirades after I sent my letter, and I never heard him spout and pontificate on the subject again in his former manner.

Anyway, he has veered so far now that I have no pleasure in his "show," which he boasts as entertainment.

He was a great comfort to me during the Gulf War, when I first began to listen to him, and through many days of trials and triumphs after. So sad he acts like he lost his way. I wonder how much the death of his mother might enter into this. ?? He surely seems to have slipped his moorings since that event.

Personally, I believe he's too puffed up in pride and self love to consider anyone elses opinions, feelings, or heart on most matters. I refuse to waste my time and energy listening to him and becoming angry. Life is too short to waste time with twaddle. :o)
