Joined by gubernatorial candidate Bill Simon, President Bush continued his trip on the left coast today as he spoke to a crowd in San Jose, CA regarding compassionate conservatism. Last night, Bush attended a fund raiser for Simon and raised $2.75 million dollars. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I'm a big James Dobson fan. A lot of things he say makes sense to me.

Let's face it Clinton is scum, the Bushes are good decent people. They would find Clinton's behavior disgusting.

That's the impression I get from what Poppy and Barbara are saying in this chapter I'm reading..it really upset them that Clinton dragged the Presidency down to such a low level. I just saw a picture of Clinton in a peace-talk meeting Arafat, and Clinton is wearing this old Arkansas Razorbacks sweatshirt...it's just soooo, ummm, sooo ... trailer trashy ??

"Ambling into History" -- the rather unflattering, but has a few good moments, Frank Bruni book about "Dubya" during the campaign

Is W crying in this picture? I think it's so sweet to see a father and son who are so close comfort each other in times of trouble.

It is not worth the read. I spent the entire book forcing myself to read it and telling myself it has to get better. Well it didn't.........

" Citizens, not spectators. Citizens who hear the call of duty, who stand up for their beliefs, who care for their families, who control their lives, and who treat their neightbors with respect and compassion. We discover a satisfaction that is only found in service, and we show our gratitude to America and to those who came before us." I did happen to hear this today, and it still stirs my heart, the same way it did on Jan 20, 2000.

Seems like this has been the week for bad days... me yesteday, you today... who wants tomorrow?

There were some worthwhile parts already, I did learn a few new things -- I didn't know that "Dubya' chewed tobacco, and I didn't realize that he was the older brother of the Bush daughter who died (leukemia ??), I always thought she was the first child. The part where Bruni talks about Al Gore is great -- Gore is such a schmuck, even this obviously liberal journalist can't help but dislike him !

A Day in the Life of President Carter
This is the formerly American Panama canal:
Here are jimmy and Rosalyn, touring a nuclear power plant, right before THREE MILE ISLAND:
I also hold Carter reponsible for this:
AND this (March, 1979 gas line):
AND this:
Let there be no doubt that I voted for Reagan. I found the Carter years to be like dog years...each one was like 7!!!
