Joined by gubernatorial candidate Bill Simon, President Bush continued his trip on the left coast today as he spoke to a crowd in San Jose, CA regarding compassionate conservatism. Last night, Bush attended a fund raiser for Simon and raised $2.75 million dollars. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

He actually is pretty good looking in a Clark Kentish sort of way.

LOL. That's exactly what I was thinking too!

I don't know if this was posted yet or not but I just wanted to let everyone know that on Good Morning America tomorrow they are going to have a special segment about Texas and Laura is going to be on.

Clara, there are lots of things I'd like to go back in time and re-do also!
But at least we can both go forward and make up for lost time.

would like to know how to be a citizen instead of a spectator?

One way is what I said above, get out there and work for the campaign. It is worthwhile, and really fun too!
Getting politically active is one way to be a citizen. I think the President also wants us to do community service too. Perhaps you could do some volunteer work in other areas, or even just help a neighbor who is in need.
I so admire the President's vision for us to all help each other again, instead of people looking to the government for help.

A media blackout is the pits, and can really hurt a candidate. National media did it to Bush after the dem convention, and that is when Gore started to catch up.

A Citizen Reporter and I and Texas2Step had accounts of all the local visits so that people would know what was going on. They are on my page as the Bush/Cheney Victory Tour threads. Most of the pictures are no longer available, but we had a wire photographer that loved President Bush and sent us photos to use. He was a wonderful help, and I will always be grateful to him.

David McIntosh lost the gubernatorial race here in Indiana because the major paper in Indianapolis pulled this stunt. We had people calling the campaiign HQ aggravated that McIntosh wasn't out campaigning...when he was, but no one knew it. I was a small-time volunteeer and no one would listen to me about PR, but they really were not thinking about how to get around this problem. I bet Simon has some ideas and is able to combat it. I am looking forward to seeing him clean Davis's clock and make the LA Times go ballistic. Ha!

I agree with that. You know what I really like about the Dose? While I love to see pictures of the President and Laura and the dogs. And those people who work around him. He has surrounded himself with a terrific bunch of people. I also like the comments posted by the Dosers ( Bush Babes/Bucks) the light-hearted bantering that goes on makes me feel ok.

You could not even rant on that thread. A day in the Life of President Carter would just put everyone to sleep.

she is such a hoot, esp. when she is trying to NOT talk nasty about Clinton

Barbara Bush.......absolutely one of my favorite people on earth!

Can you imagine how hard it was/is for her (and her eldest son) to not let loose with some incredible zingers about the Debauched One and his partner in crime? The self restraint required must be unbearable for those two razor sharp wits!
