Los Angeles Area Freepers, a Gathering Will Take Place on May 18th (Thread II)
Los Angeles Chapter FR | 04/29/2002 | Doughtyone

Posted on 04/29/2002 5:55:40 PM PDT by DoughtyOne

If you live in the Los Angeles area we'd love to have you join us for an afternoon of food and refreshments with your fellow Freepers.  There are issues that need to be supported at the local, state and national levels.  Elections are coming up this fall.  We need to develop strategies that will see Conservative values advanced.  Come join us.  I think you'll have a great time.

We plan to socialize, eat, talk about important issues and have some fun.

Date: Saturday, May 18, 2002
Time: 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Place: Glendale, California
We'll plan a $10-$12.00 price range for the afternoon meal.

If you haven't already, please contact me so that I'll know how many Freepers to plan for, and we can finalize the meeting place.

Hello Los Angeles Area Freepers:

Thanks to those of you who have made contact and expressed your desires to attend our meeting.  Some discussion has started regarding where you would like to gather.  At least one and possibly two of you have expressed an interrest to meet at Damons steak house.  A lot of people really like that place.  My concern with that setting would be that it would be hard for us to conduct the meeting portion of our festivities.  I had been looking for a place where we could take over a room separated from the rest of the clientelle.

Toni Roma's Glendale has a room where we can meet with up to 35 or so individuals.  It's closed off, yet right next to the refreshments.  The atmosphere isn't top notch, but it's a descent room.  Marie Callanders has a room that would accomodate a smaller crowd of about twelve to fifteen.  The atmosphere here would be a little better, not much.

I do think it's a must to have a separate room, but I'm certainly open to suggestions.  Let me know what you all think and I'll get to work setting up the reservations.

Thank you;

DoughtyOne

Car pooling sounds good, especially since I don't have a car. :)

I'm in Tarzana in the Valley, if anybody is going that way.

dang, it's late I can't remember all the LA area freepers I've met online. Who was I supposed to meet at Gil Turner's liquor store?

At least one and possibly two of you have expressed an interrest to meet at Damons steak house.

You can't beat Damon's for a well-priced steak. Or how about the Chevy's across from Borders? Crocodile Cafe? Or a beer bash at Gordon Biersch in Pasadena?

And Echo Park is actually in Los Angeles--unlike Glendale. Plus, I could walk there. YIPPEE (and they pour strong spirits)

That wouldn't be a problem for me, but many people make family plans for holidays. I we could ask people if they might find that to be a good idea and see what reaction we get. I'll put up an altered thread Wednesday to gage reaction.

this sounds like a lot of fun, be good to get off the mtn. I'm coming down from behind Frazier Park if anyone needs a lift, be a 4wd truck, somewhat rugged but reliable.

What type of food do they serve? Crapes? LOL I think the folks would like to be able to order steak if they like. Do they serve steak? If so what else?
