Daily Prayer Request For Freeper Budge Rhae
E-mail From Budge | April 29, 2002 | Vets_Husband_&_Wife

Posted on 04/29/2002 11:54:50 AM PDT by Vets_Husband_and_Wife

Our Friend and fellow Freeper Budge Rhae has had an accident. He fell at work Tuesday, and compressed his L-1 Vertebrae. I'm sure my dear friend won't mind me posting a part of his e-mail to me.

"I fell at work last Tuesday and now have a compressed vertebre(?) at L1. I have to wear a brace, use a walker, and I am as depressed as I have ever been. Can't even eat, feel like everything is going to stick in my throat."

Oue Budge is a dear dear friend to many here at FreeRepublic. He could use some prayers and encouragement. Years ago, I fractured L-1 and L-2. What he is going through isn't fun. And your prayers and words of friendship will be greatly appreciated.

Many of you probably know him from the many FR get-togethers.

I can only get one of my pics to post.. it is the one of Budge and JimRob. I have a really cool one of our handsome Budge with Dolly Kyle Browning, I'm going to keep trying to post that one. You can see what a doll face he is. Please Ping this to all who I have forgotten. I don't keep a Ping List.

I love you Budge.. hang tight my friend. Prayers are on the way. I've already started.... GOD BLESS YOU BUDGE,..AND MAY HE HEAL YOU QUICKLY, I ASK THIS IN HIS SON'S NAME, JESUS CHRIST!!

BUDGE AND JIMROB

Just checking in a little late today. Bad night last night, but took a pill as y'all suggested. Helped a lot.

Dagnabbit, but I'm more sore now than I have been since this happened, and in places that shouldn't be.

I can't thank all of you enough for the stories, pictures, thoughts, and most of all the prayers! Please keep 'em coming!

Gob Bless you all!

I admire your resistance to taking medication (rarely go the doctor or medicine route myself) but please don't hesitate to afford yourself the pain-relief and rest that's so necessary for your continued recovery.

Dagnabbit ... I LOVE to see the Budge spirit in action!

Sent you a card thanks to the intel of another not-so secret admirer of yours. I love you Budge, we're all thinking about you and keeping you in our prayers.

Thanks for the update Budge. It does get worst before it gets better...so if you're bottoming out there's only one way to go and that's up! Can't wait to hear how you do when you get BadJoe's chair. Bookmarked the site and hubby & I just might have to buy one!

Hope you have a restful painfree day....

Loved the groundhog story. I could visualize the whole thing. Our Gizmo (a shitsu) does a mean version of the groundhog dance from Caddyshack (with a little help from his mom LOL). Makes me want to run home, give him a great big kiss and....dump some water on his butt!!!!

One of these days I'll have to learn to post pics. so I can show off the little guy!

Prayers still going up for you, Budge! YOU WILL MAKE IT THROUGH THIS! My father in law has had 3 surgeries on his neck vertebrae and he is ambling along at a spry old 81. But, none of his healings were easy...so I know you are hurting!!!

Hey, did anyone post on this thread the news and the story about Forrest Gump passing away? ....... :-)

I have/had an 'uncle-in-law', (contractor), that fell and broke/compressed his back too.
Losta prayer for him.
Doctors said, he'd never walk/crawl/etc. again.
Lotsa prayer for him.
He had a small, cold-water, swimming pool designed for him at home.
(At one end he could be 'lowered' into it [4-5 foot deep; side edges to hand hold all around it]and shallow-inclined at the other end so as to hopefully crawl around,....with a view to some day,...up/out)
Lotsa prayer for him.
He 'forced' himself daily to move/float/stretch little by little to gain strength and control, while so as not to be under the 'weight/strain' of his own natural weight when out of the water.
Via God's Grace and Mercy,....and, while failure/loss of hope occured often,.....he finally lived MANY years of a 'good' life WALKING weird,....but, walking well!!!

Lotsa prayers.......for you too!

Amen,.........More Grace and Mercy,........In Jesus' Precious Name, Amen!!!

Oh Budge!!! I remember those days and nights. NOT FUN!!! Dag nabbit is right!!!!

Sure wish there was more I could do. Did you try sleeping in the brace?

Only consoleing thought I can give is.. IT DOES get better. In a week, in a month,.. in a year!! I can't say we will look back on this time and smile.. nothing to smile about. But at least I KNOW for sure it will be over with one day.

Until then know we are all with you and behind you. Pulling for you, K?

Maybe things will look up when the chair gets there. I just got mine mailed out today :o)

YUP!!! Picked the same color as you got too!!! (Thats a little inside joke for BADJOE.. as they are all the same color.. hehe)

Love ya Budge and Rainy.. and sheesh man!!! Your thread is gonna bust 200!!!! (Ya think people might LOVE ya a little??)

:o)

It was funny, imagine those big strapping, good looking firefighters, with a truck carrying some water, but not knowing what to do with it.

Wish you would post some pictures of your dog......... dancing of course. :-}

When my middle daughter was 7-8 years old, she was watching "Leave it to Beaver," came away thinking a proper child had to run away from home.... at least once in a childhood, so she wrote us a goodbye note.

Dear Mom and Dad, I am leaving home as I think I am old enough to look after myself, I am taking my PJ's, pillow and my teddy bear, if I get hungry, I will come back, if you miss me, I will be next door at Cindy's.

I asked her if she was running........ she said NO, but just in case.

You are in my prayers, Budge. Will also have you added to the prayer list at church (can't wait to hear the Pastor try to pronounce it - how's it pronounced again?

;-)

What a cute story!! We both read it and laughed out loud!!

I tried to run away as a youngster so I can sure relate to your tale.. but then I think most of tried at least once.

I tried to pack all I'd need into a DRAWER!!! Well, needless to say, it was heavy and cumbersome.

But the icing on the cake was when my Mom offered to hold the door open for me so I could exit. (Not the dramatic sobbing reaction I expected!!)

She said nothing else.

I walked outside.. sat down and thought for a minute.. decided the drawer was WAYYYY to heavy for someone so small to carry (rational thinking at such a young age!!) so I asked her to hold the door for me so I could come back inside.

She never questioned me.. which I am eternally grateful for. I also never attempted to run away again. I'm not even sure they had invented suitcases way back then. LOL!!

:o)

Good evening, dear Budge!

Well, the news that Forrest Gump died is, of course sad. But here is....the rest of that story:

Forrest arrived at Heaven's Gate to be greeted by St. Peter who told him this:

Forrest, of course it's good to see you here at Heaven's Gate - but things are so crowded here right now, we have had to institute a test to give before we can let people through the gate now. The test includes just 3 questions, so I am sure you can answer these if you think hard - so here goes the questions:

1. First, how many days of the week start with "T"?

2. Second question, how many seconds are in a year?

3. And, thirdly, what is God's first name?

Now, you can take all the time you need to answer these questions.....just let me know when you think you have the answer.

(Next post in the works while you, Budge, ponder these questions with Forrest Gump)
