What a cute story!! We both read it and laughed out loud!!

I tried to run away as a youngster so I can sure relate to your tale.. but then I think most of tried at least once.

I tried to pack all I'd need into a DRAWER!!! Well, needless to say, it was heavy and cumbersome.

But the icing on the cake was when my Mom offered to hold the door open for me so I could exit. (Not the dramatic sobbing reaction I expected!!)

She said nothing else.

I walked outside.. sat down and thought for a minute.. decided the drawer was WAYYYY to heavy for someone so small to carry (rational thinking at such a young age!!) so I asked her to hold the door for me so I could come back inside.

She never questioned me.. which I am eternally grateful for. I also never attempted to run away again. I'm not even sure they had invented suitcases way back then. LOL!!

:o)

This is so funny, when my kids got older and pulled that stunt, I would hand them a garbage bag, they would get so upset about me not getting upset...... takes us back a few years, doesn't it. :-}
