Bob Novak makes a United States war with Iraq sound imminent
The signal has spread through the Pentagon: on to Baghdad to get rid of Saddam Hussein, probably in September when the weather should be fine and the United States high tech arsenal will be replentished.
That's what Defense Department policymakers plan, but their cheers are balanced by apprehension among civilian and military career officials.
Some of them are apparently are crossing their fingers for Secretary of State Colin Powell to exert control over the situation. (ugh!-ed.)

I agree with 9/11/2002 - turn a "Day of Triumph" for the Islamic World into a "Day of Sorrow and Horror" would be how I'd do it

I didn't know of Novak's opinion when I predicted September last night in my email to Fisher. September looked right to me based on publically available information. Should we start the pool now? I predicted 9/11/02 on another thread a couple of months ago. Not boasting, just noting the obvious.

If this is true... I can sit back, drink a beer, and be... happy!!! Go Bush! Flex a little American muscle!!!! and make this world a better place!

My worry is that Saddam knows full well that the jig is up for him unless he gets allies and strikes first. He and the other major terrorist nations in the area (Syria and Iran) could probably coordinate an attack on Israel and on various oil fields in the Persian Gulf, just to really screw things up How's this for an alternative nightmare scenario? Through its puppet Shi'ite rebel groups in the south, Iran launches its own pre-emptive coup against Sadaam, removes him and replaces him in Baghdad with an "Islamic Republican" regime, before the preparations for our own attack are complete. All very democratic of course, just the way it is in Iran. Would we then have to re-think our whole strategy, while the Iranians tighten their grip on Mesopotamia?

Translation--
Saddam: you won't know WHEN, and you won't know HOW...but we are coming for your worthless hide.

For me, I don't believe a word of it. The tentative date of May 8 was set nearly 6 months ago now. I know of no reason why it would be altered (unless brought forward a few days by an Iraqi offensive, or a desire to do it on a Friday...)
May 3 is a Friday I think...May 5 is the planetary alignment -- a real biggie, much more than in yr 2000. May 12 is the new moon, in the mid morning EDT.
Halbmond uber Bagdad?
Nostradamus says 57 yrs to the day since Germany surrendered, wasn't that, too in early May?
But the May war is supposed to go nuclear sooner rather than later? Isn't May 12 also the 20th day in Taurus? That would imply nuclear war right there...
These predictions are the source of the term "Mayday" for the end of the world, as in the sinking of a ship...I'm going off to an astrological site...

"Ol Saddam knew about the last one and couldn't do diddly about it"...Not to mention that Saddam MIGHT be running out of diplomatically influential, royal nephews and cousins and nephews-in-law and cousins-in-law, etc. to hide behind, like he did during Desert Storm.
To: PA Engineer
Don't worry PA, if they are calling up guard units it is near impossible to keep that under wraps-it is going to be all over the local news...last time we had a 'going away' pep ceremony for the Gulf War

What you posted is great! Sums up where this Rat/Mole is coming from:
And guess where Novak has a summer home...in the south of France! Figures.

"Any public info I'll post simply because it may be disseminated to confuse the enemy or simply something that can not be kept secret."Though it's possible that the muster of medvac reserves might be due to the possibility of imminent terrorist attack, there's no way of knowing for sure. Some info is more "public" than others.
It's better to be silent and safe than to speak and be sorry.

the source of the term "Mayday" We were taught in public school that the origin is French. m'aider = help me.

A two year deploment for a terrorist warning on shopping malls?
Sounds fishy to me..

"Sounds fishy to me."LOL...well, me too.
It's only caution I'm thinking of.

Would they set up a triage in the food court? (LOL, I know you were just being cautious)

I wouldn't put a deliberate choice of a 9/11 attack date past GW at all. What a delightful thought! I like it and heartily approve.

So, you're a Nostradamus Nut, eh? (she said with a tone of derision) He's made so many mistakes it's ridiculous. Then of course, there are his predictions that are so broad that they can be made to fit numerous situations.
BTW,there are an awful lot of people here who were educated in public schools-- the majority, I'd say. Did you intend to insult them all?
To: crystalk
"I'm going off to an astrological site..." Because of course it's more dependable, and reliable right??
To: right_to_defend
That's interesting. During the Gulf war didn't all these planes go on missions from Diego Garcia? Why transfer them to Qatar this time? Shorter sorties, and thus more sorties per aircaft. We have less assets now than during the Gulf war, coming at the end of the Reagan buildup, before Bush One started the process, carried to extreme levels by the SinkMiester, of gutting the military. Actually Bush one had started cutting back, but hadn't had time to do much of it. Clinton had 8 Freeping years to cut the military to the bone, and Bush two hasn't yet had much time to do much building back up. Losing control of the Senate will make that harder too, and much more expensive, since he'll have to "give" social program spending to "get" military spending.
